Seider has not shown any signs of being unhappy in Detroit, everyone knows he loves it. Also, Friedman mentioned that Sandin could be unhappy and that someone told him to keep an eye out on the story. One player is happy with their team, the other is not

woah woah woah he COULD be unhappy? wow, stop the presses. That's just a bomb of something that Friedman is 100% speculating based on literally nothing at all. Bro, youre trying way too hard here.

Sandin is not offer sheet eligible. Folks have to read the whole narrative on when players can be offered sheeted. First thing is Sandin has not played NHL 80 games at in the last two season.

I think people forget that he was only scratched at the end of the year because he was coming off of an injury

you're saying that a guy who had a knee injury and missed the last 20 games of the season shouldnt be inserted into the lineup fresh off rehab when the Leafs defence is playing well? That sounds like logic and sound thinking. no room for that here

I don't see an EXTRA 2mil laying around without losing on some trades. Sandin has done nothing to prove he's a $4mil+ player TODAY.

No one is saying that he's worth $4M, it's the idea of forcing the Leafs to let him go by not signing him, the Red Wings giving a little return of a 2nd round pick and keeping the player. Sandin's contract will not be anywhere near $4M but it's the idea that he will be the Wings asset and not the Leafs

He was healthy and could play, Keefe decided to sit Sandin out and go with Holl over Liljegren

He was not playoff ready. It takes time to get there.

He was healthy, Keefe even said it himself, but he didn't want to put him in. If I was Sandin, I would also be upset

Yeah as if Yzerman wouldn't lock up Seider. What an ignorant response. LOL

Yzerman will easily lockup Seider, why would he give him up?

healthy does not equal playoff ready, especially for a young D

My favorite part of this is the use of ignorant when you are so blatantly oblivious to the point being made

Yes he is.

The only RFA players on Toronto that are not eligible for offer sheets are Nick Abruzzese and Ian Scott.

Also, everyone knows Sandin is talented, the Leafs aren't using him properly. He's easily a top 4 defensemen

Not yet, lol

they match both easily.

I wouldn't say easily but Toronto matches both. That gives Toronto 12 on its roster and $13M in space but that is without any other moves.

Quoting: JaredOfLondon
well if we're gonna pretend that the Leafs players for sure make it to RFA then why cant we do the same for Seider?

Because Toronto currently has 10 players on their roster for next season and about $19M in projected cap space and as it looks now Detroit is going to be pretty close to the cap floor.

But lets be realistic Yzerman isn't offer sheeting anyone.

Leafs will need to spend $6.3M on both Sandin and Liljegren if they were to match, if the Leafs are fine with having ELCs all over the forward group, good luck

He is next year and as of now he is slated to be RFA cat 10.2 which is the non-eligible status according to the CBA.

Sandin is a standard RFA and is eligible for offer sheets.

The leafs currently have 7.8 mill in cap space, can spend an additional 8.25 over the cap in the off season and liljegren and sandin will cost closer to 4 than 6 pretty much guaranteed.
There is next to no danger to losing them to offer sheets

Ok so you just repeated what I said. Now 23 players is a full roster and after Toronto matches that's 12 on your roster and $13M to sign 11 more players. Now Toronto probably goes with a smaller roster and that is why I said they match but not easily. There is nothing easy about going with a smaller roster and it's usually the playoffs when you really start to see the effects of a smaller roster. So good luck.

Nope, but realism isnt this guys thing. He just wants to be mad at the leafs because he feels his manhood threatened by a 'nerd' like dubas in charge
