Nyquist buyout is not happening. That would be wasting both cap space next year and the assets they will get for him if they decide to trade him.

Peeke is not below Blankenburg on the depth chart.

Bemstrom is not going to get a lineup spot above Danforth, Johnson and Marchenko.

Puljujarvi is a decent add, but I doubt he would cost that little or be put in a top line spot right away. Adding any forwards to the lineup without trading away any of the current nhl ready guys just seems like compounding the issue they already have with too much depth though.

Signing Rutta makes a lot of sense especially if they draft Jiricek at sixth. Rutta could be a good mentor to a fellow Czech defenseman.

Peeke is better than blankenburg. I know the Jackets are limited on RD, but I don't see them adding to the position unless boqvist is moved as part of a trade for a JT Miller or similar. I think the move is to move out Bean and bring in a Zadorov type to play 3LD.

It looks like the Oilers want to keep Puljujarvi but need to confirm whether his salary expectations fit with theirs. If it looks like they may be headed for arbitration, JP may become a trade piece. I think $2.9M x 2 is higher than the Oilers are prepared to go.

Should Edmonton look to trade Puljujarvi, I am not sure Foudy and the 2022 44th overall pick will be the winning bid. Its a reasonable offer, but given where the Oilers see themselves I suspect they will want a more established player in return. Some other GM may be prepared to pay that price.

Lmfao this is so bad. Puljujarvi isn’t a 1st line forward, he can’t even produce with McDavid, he isn’t producing in Columbus.

Honestly Columbus didn’t want Puljujarvi at the draft and they don’t want him now.
