Tear It Down

Created by: mmc1710
Team: 2022-23 Philadelphia Flyers
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 1, 2022
Published: Jun. 9, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
These moves in NO way are moves I can see happening, let alone the returns for players. If the Flyers were to rebuild/retool they have to get rid of whatever they can. I don't think Fletcher has the smarts to realize his additions (Ellis, Ristolainen) are worth much to anyone right now....

He'll continue to make stupid moves resulting in this team getting worse and worse. The next GM will have to begin an actual rebuild.

I mean, you retained like twice the legal amount and sold our top guys for nothing but at least we have 14 mill and a much better shot at the first overall pick lol

Not so sure debrusk wants out of boston anymore.

I like couturier, but him being signed until 2030 scares me.

I have no faith in Fletcher as a GM. "Retooling" over rebuilding is a stupid things to tell your fans. The Flyers have middle type talent right now...let the young guys play for a year....see what you got.....let JVR contract run its course.....put other vets up at the TDL and hope the youth make some strides. I know I sold players for pennies on the dollar in these deals, but I can see almost all of those players being included in a deal this offseason.

This seems pretty confused. Some trades flyers get ripped off. Some trades are for futures others are for more win now assets. Not sure I get it tbh

Los Angeles declined and permanently blocks all future trades.

Iafallo and our 2022 first for Provorov (without retention) is a realistic exchange; if you want, you can argue that we should include the third as well. That we would trade Arvidsson and Roy for Hayes is just insane.

The goalie with a .905 sv% is worth more than an 80pt guy and an elite defensive 3C.

sure

Do you think .905 is bad, that there’s never been an elite goalie with a .905 average?

Hart get hung out to dry more than I’ve ever seen any goalie in my 36 years on this planet…

That Couturier proposal is one of the worst I have ever seen, in 20+ years being in hockey forums

Remember this Flyers GM is the same guy who gave up 2 picks plus Ghost for absolutely nothing....and the defense didn't look any better without Ghost + the powerplay sucked without a blueliner that knew what to do on the PP. Ristolainen for Hagg, a first AND a second....Fletcher, in my mind, has NOT won a trade yet for Philadelphia (Atkinson is close, but I see what move as a draw between both teams)

The returns on these trades were just made up....not trying to be realistic....but I think the Flyer's retool/rebuild will include some/most of the players I used in trades.

Laughton is also better than Kampf. They are very close defensively and Scott is just better at producing. I’d take Laughton over Kampf and a pair of 2nds to the oilers

I’d also take Hart over Nylander, but that just fits my teams needs, although I’m sure everyone thinks Hart over Nylander in terms of value.

I’d say Philly would need way more than a good 3rd pair D and a mid round pick. Probably a top prospect and a first gets the phone ringing.

But that’s from an oilers fans perspective.

I’ve never heard anyone use the term “elite” so loosely as leaf’s fans

Elite 3C, someone called Holl an elite 2nd pair D

I’m not crapping on Kampf, but last year our 3C to start the year was Hayes which is better in both ends than Kampf. Currently it’s Frost or Laughton, both who are better. Granted Frost isn’t the same type of player but the guy has shown tremendous growth

Elite defensively and elite in general are vastly different.

That’s a fair point, I still don’t know if I’d say elite defensively, but top 30 for sure, some seasons he does better than others though
