Canes accept

NJD & BUF don't need retention so would probably offer less in those scenarios.

Strome would be a nice pickup, just not at the price you're asking.

If Kubalik brought any sort of cap savings it could make sense but this is a lateral move at best for the Flames.

Strome would thrive in Toronto's high flying offence system. He had 50 points on a terrible Chicago team plus he missed the first 15 games because of a terrible coach.

he is only 23, his face-off % is getting better, and his defence isn't as bad as the media says it is. Toronto would be silly not to take that deal.

I hope Chicago keeps him

He'd probably provide some decent offence for sure, but his speed would limit him in Torontos system. He'd be worth a flyer to see what he can do, but nothing like the OP

He played with Connor and the Cat in junior.. I will give you that his skating isn't the smoothest but I wouldn't say he is slow.

Toronto is so close to getting over that hump. These are the moves you gotta make though.

Sure knees but be better in 3-4 years but is Auston still a leaf by then?

The leafs are always gonna need elc replacements coming in to keep costs down, that's one of their biggest problems. Blown drafts and thrown away picks by nonis, lou and hunter would be aging into that now, so they need to bargain shop.
And as i said, strome would be a nice add, he just doesnt have that level of value in a trade, especially since he may not even get qualified and hit free agencu
