Saw this trade in another roster

Created by: Mitch9412
Team: 2022-23 Edmonton Oilers
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 10, 2022
Published: Jun. 10, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I saw a Wings fan suggest Jesse for Zadina. Two "struggling" talents. Could see a swap there. I also want Gibson out of Anaheim very bad.
Don't rip the trade values, every teams fans highly value their own players and assets. Till it actually happens the values are irrelevant.

Can’t see Verbeek accepting that for Gibson to a division rival

Agreed, Not enough quality going to the Ducks for JG.

I know there were rumblings of when Jesse Puljujarvi was playing overseas, That Yzerman was interested in him and supposedly Detroit was one of the teams linked to him if Holland decided to move on from him. Plus Zadina was Hollands last big draft gamble. So it does make some sense. And Yzerman and Holland already have a great trade partnership together even though Yzerman has fleeced his mentor.

I’d give more for Gibson for sure. Just a base for what I thought was maybe close.

Bourgault is going to be a great player, Just think that Pat Verbeek will want some one else as well. After all he was trained by the very best in Steve Yzerman.

I don't think I would make that trade personally even though JP has outscored Zadina. I would rather see what Zadina has with a new coach and full season with Vrana. Also JP hasn't scored that much considering a lot of playing time with mcdavid and draisatl.

Was it this season you watched him? How would you describe his game? Loved him in Oilers pre season, he could make cuts hard this fall, would be very exciting if he comes and performs better than expected like at this fall's camp.

I'd much rather have Zadina and if it happened it would be one 1 for 1. Zadina is a season behind JP and about 75% of JPs points involved McDavid or Draisaitl.

Gibson hasn't been worth his contract since 2018. You guys are living in the past. tears of joy

Easy no from Edmonton.

Puljujarvi has a far, far greater on-ice impact than Zadina has, and it's not close. Top-5 in the league, in fact. Edmonton declines this offer.

You're right it's better to keep zadina but I don't mind the deal so much. I just like the kinda player JP is turning into but I suppose we can just sign like mikheyev and get the same thing.

If you want to trade Puljujärvi for Zadina that will be accepted but Detroit isn't going to give up their 2nd this year. Either a 1-for-1 trade or we add a prospect like McIsaac to sweeten the deal.

Not according to the stats.

Scoring per 60: Zadina 0.95, Puljujärvi 1.50. Giveaway-takeaway: Zadina -0.34, Puljojärvi + 0.51. Puljojärvi hits more too and is better at driving play. The only stat where Zadina is better is shot blocking.

Puljojärvi is also a right shot and we're short of those.

I'm not particulary fond of trading away Zadina but this is an offer that is interesting because we're getting a player that well could be a better fit. Not giving up a 2nd though but we have a few players and prospects that are surplus in McIsaac (this is the last year he's waiver exempt, his value will nosedive next year), Erne, Grewe, Oesterle, Smith.
