The Buffalo pick is 9th, Sharks is 11th... you have Buffalo paying the Sharks a 2nd and taking back a worse pick. Did you intend to have it be the Vegas 1st? Either way i don't think Buffalo makes the trade as moving up 5 spots isn't worth an early 2nd in this draft in my opinion.

yea it would be one or the other and even then i would assume the oilers would balk and opt to sign Fleury or look for a young Net minder of the future this off-season.

I think it was a mistake but the draft value charts would have moving back from 11-16 be an ealy 2nd or a late 1st, and in reality if there is a guy Buffalo wants that might not be there at 16 i see this happening.
you guys need more quality and less quantity and the D the sharks are looking at (Korchinski and Mintyukov) one of the 2 might very well be there at 16

Most value charts I've seen show the difference actually being a 3rd.

Well, the Buffalo trade make zero sense whatsoever

Why on earth would we give u a 2nd to actually mover back in the draft?
U got the picks mixed up there dude

Btw, even if u meant that u guys would get pick16 instead of pick 9, i don’t think we’d do it

11th pick holds a value of 35.6
16th holds 27.1
40th holds 9.1
27.1 plus 9.1 equals 36.2 vs 35.6 so it’s close enough to consider but only if Buffalo really wants a certain player and the sharks player is gone.

That's one value chart, there are dozens more. While a 1st and 2nd is typical it also really depends on how the teams tier the players. If they see 11 and 16 being within the same tier then they likely put less value on moving up where as if they see a split in tiers between those picks they may place more value on it.

No it wouldn't. You're delusional if you think Reimer is worth either Puljujarvi or a 1st.

no i’m not delusional but yea it would still be an overpay. if they have no intention of qualifying him your losing nothing and a late first in this draft is worth less with this beating a weaker draft class. again i said oilers probably still don’t make the deal but you skipped that part.

No intention of qualifying Puljujarvi?? Now I know you're delusional. No sane person would even suggest such a thing.

very true. again if the 11th pick comes up and a player the Sabres want is available and the sharks are looking to move back i see this being reasonable.

Actually there's been discussion about Puljujarvi maybe not signing in Edmonton.

Unlikely.

Kane's sent his thank you to the team and fans, can't see him coming back.

If they buy out Kassian (likely as his buyout is $667k.) call up Skinner (who's waiver eligible, so unless Smith retires, no point in bringing in a goalie,) Holloway and Broberg, leaves them $12.1m to resign Yamamoto, Puljujarvi, McLeod and maybe Kulak.

That's absolutely untrue. Please provide a link to said rumors... if you can't afford to sign a good young RFA, you still qualify him. That's the elementary - even a 10 year old would know that.
