Kirby Dach to Pitt

Created by: Hullsy09
Team: 2022-23 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 10, 2022
Published: Jun. 11, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Scenario: chicago did not list dach as one of their untouchables. They are probably unimpressed with his development thus far. Let's say contract talks go poorly and they determine dach is not a part of their long term future so they want to get rid of him now. Let me know if I am off on his value Chicago fans.

Wasn't sure what to do with 2LW so I went with Marchment. High risk high reward as a year ago we didnt know who he was but he was so awesome last year, I guess we will see if he is legit or he was just playing on florida

Fun team but to get Chicago interested you'd probably be looking at two firsts and not the laundry list offered to them here.

I just dont get what Dach has accomplished in his career yet to warrant being worth 2 firsts. He is 0 for 3 on successful seasons thus far, and I am a fan of him as a player,

Dach has had some unlucky injuries as well as had his development screwed by Bowman. Chicago isn’t moving him unless it’s an offer they can’t refuse.

These hawks fans in the comments turning down every possible offer for dach amazes me. You guys want us to add Rust and Marino too?

Crosby too. I mean the guy is looking the part of a potential bust and they want he value of the third overall pick they got him with

Excuses excuses excuses. How does an ex GM of the team result in Dach not being able to produce? There is no other way to put it that he has been extremely unproductive in the NHL and thus his value has dropped significantly

Bowman screwed up by forcing him into the lineup too early. Should have went back to juniors or to Rockford to develop. The trade offer isn't awful, just think the Hawks will sign him to maybe a two-year deal and hope he develops. They don't have to get rid of Dach. Also, per the original discussions, the list of untouchable Hawks is blank.

Elliott Friedman reported that Kane and Toews (unless they request) , along with Jones are untouchable I believe.

I know he may not be traded but for this ACGM I made the scenario “Let's say contract talks go poorly and they determine dach is not a part of their long term future so they want to get rid of him now.”

Jones because of the contract is untouchable. Toews and Kane, we'll see, probably get moved at the trade deadline if they want to go. I don't disagree that if contract talks go poorly that they might trade him, but I think the Hawks could match the $3MM for 4 years deal that you proposed he would sign with the Penguins, even if he's not part of the future, then gamble that he's more productive and increases his value.

Yep, all of 21 years old and we are calling him a bust?

You missed the word “potential” there. You can’t deny that 3 poor seasons in a row warrants the “potential” bust tag

Too early to tell especially for a big man. TBH I don’t know which way his arrow is pointing. Last year was disappointing. His time in the bubble was great. We have mixed results this far

Dach was our 3rd overall pick, who is only 21 years old, had a rushed development, unlucky injuries, and came into the league during a pandemic. There is no reason yet to believe that Dach doesn't have WAY more potential than what we've seen. So to let him go for an offer like that would be admitting he is a bust when calling him that would be WAY too premature. So where his value based on what we've seen so far may not be great, CHI just isn't ready to give up on his potential, and, most likely, rightfully so considering all the interest in him on here.
