We’d even top that Chychrun offer.

Is Walker any good? Would he be a capable 2nd pair guy or more of a 3rd ? What are his flaws?

We were close to seeing him unlock his offensive side. Roy is more of a well rounded player, but Walker possibly hasn’t hit his ceiling. Plays with intensity but this is twice he’s been injured for a while. I think his cap rate is fair if you want a bottom pairing all situations player, OR a middle pair if he was paired with a defensive defenseman. Also, he plays both sides.

We’d add more if needed from the Kings side

I think that Arizona would be asking for more, and due to the fact that they're short on actual NHL players for next season and the Kings cap situation shown here, I can see both teams preferring to have Alex Iafallo replace Sam Fa-gem-o in this deal.

Walker is certainly intriguing, but ultimately I think there's too much uncertainty in what you're getting with him coming off a lost season. Ottawa needs to add defensive stability to the top 4, so expecting Walker, who hasn't played those kind of minutes and has never had great defensive results, to suddenly do both after missing a full year just seems like a bet on hope rather than reason.

That doesn't get Jakob Cychrun need to add one of Turcotte or Vilardi.
And for Filip Forsberg to sign in LA try closer to $10,000,000 x 7 years.

An absolutely legitimate viewpoint, and concern. But to invest a late third (I think that it's #86) doesn't seem like that much of a risk, at least to me. I think that it's a good gamble for the Sens.

I'd do Iafallo, Turcotte and the 2022 first.

Yeah that's much closer then what the OP has, Pretty sure Armstrong would accept that. Chychrun to the Kings just makes way too much sesnse.

It's not bad value at all.

My main thought process is essentially this:
-the Sens brought in Hamonic in anticipation of moving Zaitsev this summer.
-Ottawa being reported to still be in the market suggests they at least realized that Hamonic is not that (too little too late lmao)

Basically I think Ottawa needs to bring in a sure thing in targeting a top 4 RD. If they bring in a maybe and that player isn't a top 4 Dman, the only other option becomes Travis Hamonic, or one of two rookies.

I think there plan for Hamonic is just to make sure either one of JBD and/or Thompson is eased into the league and that when Hamonic's deal is up one of them take the top 4 spot. I would think JBD more likely.

Decent but has been injury prone. That being said, no more spots available for basically anybody unless :

- Veteran Top-6 Winger
- Veteran Top-4 RHD

I mean CLEAR Top-6/Top-4, not players on the fence either.

Make Zaitsev disappear and I'd do it

But not only Zaitsev, there's also Del Zotto and Hamonic who have 1 year left.

As of now, Lassi Thomson and Jacob Bernard-Docker will have to wait for injuries for their next call up

They are letting Victor Mete walk as a RFA (young, cheap, very fast and was good at zone exits prior to this year)

There's just no spots. The only spots would be for clear upgrades in the Top-6 or Top-4. That's what needs to happen
