Was the question "Who are the two least informed people who are paid to write click-bait articles for Postmedia, and a current GM that never said what HeadHighSauce thought he did?"

You'll have to yell at Ryan Rishaug and not me, brother. Sorry your GM is reportedly valuing everyone else much more highly than Puljujarvi.

Dunno what yelling at Ryan Rishaug would accomplish - he's paid to create media, and I doubt Holland would ask him his opinon. That said, Edmonton media is likely the cause of me being "pissy," - they're only good relative to Eric Francis down south.

Okay so, Edmonton media is reporting that Yamamoto and Kane will be prioritized, Puljujarvi is likely to be traded, that they want to get more physical. Considering the cap situation in that case, why would an NHL ready first round power forward on an ELC not be seen as a suitable return. Maybe another prospect or a 2nd is attached but this is perfectly fair based on everything said by the Edmonton media /and/ Ken Holland.

Gregor and others think Kane is gone, which makes sense from both Kanes post and Holland's year end press conference.

Yamamoto's a very useful player, I would value him more than Puljujarvi at this point and time, and you have 3 years ELC for Yamo rather than 2 for Puljujarvi.

Without Kane, Edmonton's cap space is not a concern. If Smith retires or LTIR, and/or Duncan Keith decides to call it a career rather than play for $1.5m, and Edmonton's suddenly floating in cap space.

I could see a team offering Puljujarvi a one year $4.2m contract, which Edmonton could match with current cap. Dunno if they would though, might match, retain and flip at that point and time.

Pretty sure they literally cannot flip after matching, for a year.

So they match, hold on, and move him as a RFA next season. Or, someone offers him a deal that takes him to UFA, in which he would need more years, and could be flipped for the remainder. That said, if you were a GM, would you offer $4.2m AAV for more than a single season for Puljujarvi? I'd think Edmonton would likely take the pick and watch a team put themselves into a hole.

Yes. I would do that in a heartbeat. lmao

If you don't think he's worth 4.2M, why wouldn't he be worth Nolan Foote and a 3rd??

Personally, I like Puljujarvi, and would rather just keep developing him. A team could try and do an offer sheet, but it's unlikely (for all of the reasons GM's don't offer them.) This was predicated by the belief that Edmonton does not have the cap space, and that's not true. If Kane isn't coming back (and from what Kane posted and Holland said, sounds very unlikely.) Edmonton has cap space for McLeod, Yamamoto, Puljujarvi, Kulak, and anyone else Holland wants to bring back.

You /should/ keep Puljujarvi, even if you didn't have the space lol
