Adin Hill is worth more than moving up 30 picks in the middle of the draft

Hill's value isnt that great imo. Reimer outplayed him the whole year despite Hill playing when the sharks were playing much better. His value is probably like a 4th but I see it as more of a cap dump at this point. I dont see him having a whole lot of potential with the sharks, especially as their starter barring a Reimer trade

Hill at just over 2 mil and 25 isn’t a cap dump, he had an injury barred season but still played decently he should still have about 3rd round pick value at this point.

He was hurt multiple times this year which really didn’t help his consistency. He had a better save percentage than guys like Binnington, carter Hart, Jake Allen and was 17th in the league in gaa among goaltenders playing in 20 games or more. Also had 2 shutouts in his 25 games. He isn’t a cap dump by any means and certainly with more than what’s presented here.

Ben Bishop would likely be our best goalie in this roster so goaltending needs work. (UPL has yet to last 8+ games in a season and Jones is just another Aaron Dell)

Leafs trade doesn’t help much so I’d rather pass.

Why do we want Hagg back exactly?

Don’t hate the Palat deal however

- I know; can address goaltending at any time tho. No need to rush into something crazy in UFA. I think all other goalies get overpaid or over-term for our timeline.

- why not get the free assets? Steeves would be great for the Amerks. Only person maybe upset with this is Pegula if we didnt need Mrazeks cap to hit the floor

- seemed great in the locker room; may be able to flip him again at the deadline for a late pick

- if we sign any UFA winger, I hope its Palat. I think his age, vet leadership, playoff experience, and expected cap hit/term fit our timeline well to help the rookies while not blocking their spots

I’d rather find a legitimate potential goalie and just throw a huge 2 year deal at him than bring in more AHL goalies. Comrie and DeSmith for instance would be wise realistic targets.

If it were another team, perhaps I take a prospect and 2024 2nd; but not for the Leafs. They need to grovel before I’d ever aid them.

Really the problem with Hagg is he’s just a guy; I’d want a more legitimate vet with more to bring than mere existence.
