No one is trading for Trouba and his bad contract

If rangers retain 2 mil or throw in a young roster player Wings accept.

Blues pass. If you want their leading scorer AND a 60 pt guy who hits and PKs, You're gonna need to solve a problem for them. A big one. And this trade solves nothing, but creates a new problem.

Wings might be one team Trouba would waive too, but Wings are stacked with inexpensive RHD. And in the cap strapped league, is Trouba worth 8M? Don't know why the Wings would help their competitors in the Eastern Conference with their cap. A fair trade considering Trouba NMC would be Trouba to Detroit, 2m retained for a 7th rounder. If Rangers don't like it keep 8m Trouba.
Wings might like players like Copp, Trocheck as UFA. No reason to take Trouba if they are happy at RHD.

it would be a mistake to move Trouba at this point. he is too valuable to the makeup of their blueline.

Replace Robertson and Georgiev with Lindgren and Blues do it at least consider it.

Detroit could then trade Hronek for something, they have a lot of cap space.

Hard to imagine DET taking on Trouba at $8M/season to play #3 dman minutes. He's not going to overtake Seider as the top RHD. He's better than Hronek, but not that much. I'd love to see a Seider/Trouba/Hronek RHD in DET, but it'll need to be more like $5.5/6M per season.

Detroit doesn't need Trouba but for a 2nd you almost have to take it. It's just to bad he won't waive.

I still like Trouba, but not sure this gets it done from Detroit's perspective. He's an upgrade on Hronek, but costs about double. That 2nd rounder probably goes further for the organization either using it to draft a prospect or trading it to pick up a short-term answer on LD (or 2C while I'm dreaming) while we wait for prospects. Unless we can flip Hronek to pick up that 2C or LD.
