Description

Honestly would be happy with this offseason, a lot of FA signing but gives more stability for the next few seasons and adds a solid role dman and a few big wings to pair with Hughes and Hischier.
The WIN trade idk if they would be in a market for tatar but getting rid of him (and taking what was the Rags pick lol) would be a big save in salary cap for the future although i see him staying and using it next offseason for a net minder if blackwood doesn't take the next step this year.

Tatar isn't worth a first to anyone.

Tatar didn't have a great season, not terrible either though, if NJ retained a bit I'd consider it if I was Chevy.

I feel WPG would be better off with a retained AJ. At least he has xGF stats to lean on.

But in the end, neither AJ or Tatar are worth a 2nd, which this roughly would cost (a late one) to move up 11 spots or whatever it is. Devils would be lucky to get a 4th for Tatar and a 3rd for AJ just to open up roster spots.

It's still giving up a 1st round pick for a player that is worth a 4th maximum.

???? What? Anything more than a pick at 120 OA or lower is an overpay for Tatar.

But it's not just the pick. Its Tatar for a change in projected GSVA of 0.6, moving from 30 to 37 (Tatar and 37 for 30)

Are you not understanding this trade? a 4th is worth 0.5 - 0.4 GSVA so, if your valuing Tatar at a 4th, that's roughly the equivalent value of sliding back 7 slots. It's not a "first for Tatar". its moving back 7 spots for Tatar.
