Don’t understand why Habs fans don’t understand that we aren’t even gonna touch a Petry trade if there isn’t retention. Also, it is highly unlikely we lose Letang. And lastly, if we lose Letang I can almost guarantee you we are not giving up a first or Marino or any of these other silly assets to go and get Petry WITHOUT retention.

Yeah that is a pretty decent offer for Dach, 2 good prospects and a 1st. I am good with this offer as well from a Habs perspective. Losing Harris and Farrell sucks but we already have to move a LD prospect and Farrell gets replaced by Dach. Overall nice trade for both sides, good job.

Hawks likely accept unless they got a better offer somewhere else, but the value is there and I would do it.

There's absolutely NO WAY in hell that Pittsburgh does that trade. That is also an overpay for Romanov, would much rather do a 1-2 year bridge for him at around 2.5mil. Habs should also focus on trading Drouin for literally anything and get something for him since they got absolutely robbed of Sergachev

The pitts one would probably look more like : their 1st rounder and Zucker w a pick for retention ( 2nd next year for 3 years), while habs retain 1.25 mil on petry.

I am not sure why people are high on acquiring Kirby Dach. Am i missing something? The most goals he scored in junior hockey was 25 and through 152 games in the NHL (almost 2 full years) he has 59 points (30 points per season). He is looking like Kotkaniemi to me: big, young and [perhaps talented but not actually doing anything.

I would keep Farrell. Maybe Harris and some later picks, but why give up Calgary's pick for Dach?

Do people think that he is about to break out for some reason?

A lot to like about a 6’5 skilled C, who could play wing if needed (assuming wright pans out) watched alot of dach in junior and he was dominant, habs have a log jam on the left side for D, and Farrell looks to be a good prospect, but that’s a gamble it translates to the NHL, can’t keep stockpiling picks and prospects with nowhere to play them
