I think this is pretty close to the plan for this offseason, get Chychrun and a top-6 player.

I just don't think Lias Andersson will be with us.

You're not getting Chychrun without giving up multiple of Turcotte, Kupari, Sam F, Clarke, Grans, Bjornfot and multiple 1st rounders. There is no world in which the Coyotes also send you back a pick, let alone a high 2nd rounder. Vilardi is a bust, he's barely younger than Chychrun and has shown little to nothing in the NHL, Sean Walker is a fine player but he's 27 which is way ahead of the Coyotes timeline and coming a major major injury, Austin Wagner is an low ceiling 4th liner.. so really the only good pieces for the Coyotes here are Spence and the 1st rounder, which just isn't enough and there's no way Spence is who the Coyotes would want

I think you're going to have to bring down your expectations of what Chychrun will return. I don't necessarily think OP's trade is what gets it done, but it's not gonna take what you're asking for.

Vilardi and Turcotte are approximately the same value currently. Spence and Grans probably are interchangeable. So sure, switch the package to Turcotte, Grans, Walker and a 1st. I can't see Arizona getting more than that from either LA or, for that matter, anyone else in the league. Asking for more is a package more lucrative than what Eichel got, who was traded with the intent of being a top-5 center in the league. Chychrun likely doesn't crack top 10 of LHD.

Unless Nichushkin has some connection to LA that no one knows about, he won't be taking that. Colorado will offer him at least that, and other teams might even go as high as in the sixes.

I do think LA should go after Chychrun. The price will be more painful than this, but I actually think they should still go for it.

I don't think that you're getting the equivalent of four firsts for Chychrun. I think that some version of Iafallo, Turcotte, a first and one more element like a second or Jordan Spence or Helge Grans is a fair deal.

I agree with you completely about Walker and Wagner (whom, to be honest, I think you're over-rating!). We've heard that Arizona's GM has announced a preference for Vilardi over Turcotte, which is why he keeps showing up in Chychrun trades proposed from our side.

Agreed. Anyone who doesnt think we need a great LD this offseason probably over rates our UFA's or isn't aware we have the assets and cap space to make a splash for someone to be with us through the coming cup window. I am curious to see which top 6 wingers actually make it to free agency. Id pay Nichushkin up to 5.5AAV and have a 22 man roster to make it work. I also agree that Chychrun is going to be a bidding war and it will cost more get him. I just didn't want to here from other LA fans how much of an overpayment it would be. I would exchange the 2nd for a later pick, add anderson, and potentially switch the RD prospect besides Clarke. In terms of top-6 wingers who would you target with a 6 million AAV limit? I am not sure if a power forward penalty killer, or a sniper would work best with Kopitar and Kempe.

Reilly Smith could be a decent fit. Palat maybe (although I bet Tampa finds a way to keep him). Burakovsky may very well be available too. Might have to shuffle the top 6 to find the right fits, but there are a few options.

I don't think Nichushkin hits the market. He had a rough go in Dallas but has seemingly found a comfort zone in Colorado. I'm gonna guess that is important to him and he stays. What do I know though, lol.
