I don't think the Bolts will trade away a 20+ minute per night D-man without having a plan to bring in another quality D-Man. Would need to see LA including some sort of vet D or seeing the Bolts able to sign Anton Stralman for a decent cap hit.

Dunno why TB does that. Just sign Nick Paul to a new $3.5m per deal and let Palat walk as a UFA. Done! No cap issues and a full roster!

You’d rather overpay Paul to likely more term than get a guy like Giroux???

Rutta and Bogo looks like a solid 3rd pair. And a veteran like Marc Staal as a 7th Dman would help too.

I think there's a possibility something like this comes to fruition. To me it seems like a bit of an overpay to a team everyone knows needs to move a whole bunch of cap.

But if the Kings are going to pay a 1st and Turcotte for a LD, why would they not just make a bit better package and go hard after Chychrun, who has a better contract situation for 2 more years, fits the mold better in terms of the athletic build they want, has experience playing as the top-pairing D, and knows the Western Conference better?

Ok you could get him for slightly more… but you have to ask yourself what’s the gap between Chychrun and Sergachev? Because it’s not a big one and Chychrun is on a great deal until he ends up hitting free agency and costing a fortune to keep. I’m not as high on him as others but my rebuttal to your question is why add futures to a team in your division? Sure Arizona is a long ways away from being a threat but it makes sense to send futures to the east. And a good player can play anywhere. I’m sure eastern conference teams won’t shy away from Chychrun

Arizona isn't in LA's division any longer, with them moving to the Central this past year.

If they can sign Paul at $3.5m for multi years, he would be much more valuable than Giroux for $4m at one year. Paul seems to fit well here and could produce near the level of Alex Killorn. Bolts need to find a few good more top 6 guys with reasonable cap hits.

2 years of Giroux at around 4 million is a steal. Paul is a great 3rd liner. Giroux is another level and he is that perfect 2nd line veteran. I think he’s going to look to sign for Tampa or Colorado. People on here that have him going to Ottawa must think he just wants to go home but the guy is a battler and he clearly wants to win a cup or why would he leave Philly?

I would take that offer as the Los Angeles GM, in a hurry. I'm still dubious that (1) Arizona wants to move Chychrun at all, and (2) Arizona will accept a reasonable offer for him.

There’s so much hype around Chychrun that he’s moved into the overrated category. I’m not saying he isn’t a very good LHD but the gap between him and Sergachev is pretty small. Also you could extend Sergachev in that 5.5-6 million range. Chychrun will get stupid money once he’s a UFA

Tampa declines. Not as big a fan anymore of Turcotte nor is Tampa in that much need for a C. The cap really isn't a problem this coming offseason, so if they were listening on Serg, they'd want Kaliyev as the main piece most likely. If Kaliyev wouldn't work, then something like Roy+Chromiak+1st for Serg+3rd seems like something Tampa might consider. Most likely Serg isn't getting moved this offseason anyway unless Brisebois was just blown away by an offer.
