It's Risto all over again, overpaid to get him by trade then doubled down on the bad move by giving him a contract that will also age badly

The trade itself was a head-scratcher, but securing Lauzon's prime years at $2M makes it not as bad as it could have been.

That being said, he still has to improve to be worth it.

Nashville loves giving out long term contracts to depth players for some reason. You could probably get a similar level player on a minimum contract.

4 year term for a bottom pairing dman (at best) @ 2mil per?? even Jim Benning says ouch.
I wonder if it was due to the year where he got a season high of 1 goal...or any of the other years where he has maxed out at 1 goal. I guess you pay extra for consistency?

this one may not be as bad.
Poolman is 4 years older, 500K more, and added too a d-core that has overpaid every D-man not named Quinn Hughes.

Contract - Bad
impact on team - maybe not as bad as Poolman

I voted yes. He's only 25. That can deal turn into a steal, especially with that term, and even if it doesn't it's not TOO much for a third pair D.

Poolman hasn't played enough this past season to reasonably make an apples to apples comparison

Not every Canuck defender not named Quinn Hughes is overpaid you goof. Luke Schenn, Travis Dermott, and Kyle Burroughs aren't overpaid. Get your facts straight

Poolam's contract is terrible

Hes a 7th Dman making 2.5mill for 3 more seasons. Even Jets fans said it was way to much

What Schenn signed for was the most Poolman should have got

While yes its not Vlasic bad the money was better spent elsewhere

Poolman is more mobile than Schenn, you could argue that's why he commands a better salary, and no, he's NOT a 7th D-man, he's a 5/6 D-man, there is a difference. He did not get healthy scratched ONCE this past season in case you didn't notice. Don't take the word of Jet's fans, they're not the most level-headed
