Playing GM For A Team I Hate Part I

Created by: edeangel84
Team: 2022-23 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 13, 2022
Published: Jun. 13, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
No I’m not trolling, this is a fair take at trying to handle your eventual cap problems that are only just beginning. At least one of these moves will be controversial but you need to have space pay that kid line, along with Miller and Schneider.

There’s two first round picks who are 22 and 21 years old going back. Even if a pick is needed it should be a 2nd and not a first. That’s a lot to get for one year of a player

3 former 1st round picks who will be 22, 23, and 25. A first on top of that is too much. A 2nd is fair to ask for

Chiarot got a 1st, a 4th and a prospect that isn’t near Kratsov or Lundqvist

Believe me I hope that trade never happens but Drury would be nuts to not go after Miller for a year

It never happens because the Rangers aren't going to give up that kind of asking price for a rental.

didn't NYR call on Miller this past season? i heard the trade started with Lundqvist package, VAN countered with a Schneider package. NYR said that was too much, VAN said they wouldn't take less and each GM said thanks and hung up.

VAN Declines
no way VAN moves Miller for hopes on 1st rd. picks that "might pan out"
Miller will be moved for a proven top 4 RHD, I don't see that here.
that they were take in the first round is a smoke screen for their true quality. Nolan Patrick was a first round pick, you're not to going to see him add value to a trade grimace

You can’t seriously be valuing Kravtsov and Gauthier as 1st round picks? Gauthier has no essentially no value whatsoever, Kravtsov is probably worth around a 3rd, maybe a 2nd. Lundkvist also isn’t a good enough prospect to headline a Miller trade

Imagine calling a huge underpay the most reality based JT Miller trade. You really know very little about hockey

Why isn’t Kravtsov still valuable enough along with Lundqvist to make this trade? I never said Gauthier was worth a 1st now but he isn’t worthless. He’s a nearly 25 year old bottom six forward. There isn’t any reason to devalue those prospects. Most prospects do not come good until they are past 22 anyway.

And what proven RHD would you like for a trade? It’s going to be one that has one year left or has more term but isn’t a like for like switch with Miller. Vancouver should have trade JT last summer. Now it’s time to make a deal or let him walk. After seeing how Calgary’s season went I’d trade him this summer rather than let him walk like Calgary is about to do with Johnny Hockey

Common misconception- just because a player is picked in the first round doesn’t mean they have first round value

that's a poor offer for Miller the Canucks turned down Lundkvist, Chytil and a 2022 1st what makes you think they'd accept a much worse offer?

If a team gives them a first they will get a prospect with it or a veteran. He has one year left and you won’t get top value.

He had a 99 point season and plays any role every team in the leauge beats this offer, Lundkvist, Chytil and 1st was rejected by Vancouver, it's Schinder + or bust for us, or we can just keep Miller

Ok so if you don’t trade him (and with that price you won’t) you have to ask yourself is it worth it to lose him next year? Look at Calgary now. They had a very good regular season but it ended up not leading to anything in the postseason and I’m guessing they’ll lose Johnny. Is that something you’re willing to take a risk on?

As a Pens fan my offer for JT would be Marino and our 1st. Would you want that Canucks fans over this? Add a second into this deal if you want but I’d take this deal

I mean we have the cap space to re-sign Miller, if needed we are just trying to get a top 4 RHD as that's a need, Lundquist won't fit that role for us
