No one is making those trades.

Gaudreau isn't signing that contract.

You're almost 6m over the cap anyway.

Disagree. I think nobody is trading for johnston. Every team has 6 of their own versions of him. The contract is fully
bury-able so i dont think thats the issue.

Why trade for a guy that makes over $1m on a long term deal to just stick him in the minors? That contract is awful for a replacement (or worse) level player.

1. Puljujarvi has more value than Varlamov.
2. Edmonton doesn't have the cap space.
3. Varlamov already refused to waive his NMC for Edmonton.

NSH has plenty of bottom six and minor league depth.
