If you were Edmonton would you even want Lehner? You guys are obviously gonna try to make another deep playoff run, and goaltending was your biggest weakness last season. Trading for Lehner is a sizeable upgrade on Smith, and Lehner has term so this whole goalie carrousel thing can finally stop. getting a staring goalie while losing nothing off of your roster seems like a good deal for a team who just made the conference finals imo.

If you trade Dadonov before the league season rolls over to 2022-23, you can trade him back to Ottawa. They wouldn't be on his current no-trade list.

I highly doubt any team takes Lehner for free with his injury uncertainty and term, definitely not for a top prospect. You forgot Hague and Thompson who are both NHL caliber. Subban is a waste of cap space that could be used to sign Smith.
