Description
Mere ideas, Not give up an arm and a leg for Gibson, but a fair offer w/ cap relief to throw Klefbom in there..
Free up Cap Space with the Foegele and Barrie(although I'd prefer to keep Barrie for the room and PP1)
Add cheaper solid alternatives in the bottom 6 with Sanford(upwards to $2m cap hit)
This is all pending Smith actually retiring...

He's been trending down for the last 3 years, and at $6.4m for 5 more season closing in on 30 soon- nobody is going to be giving up a 1st plus a bunch of top prospects.. I wouldn't be surprised if there was mid pick added and/or another prospect not from the Top 5 group...

Drop Dellandrea and the fifth round pick and you’re close

Can’t see ANA trading him in division for this little of a return

Whether he’s “worth it” or not to EDM doesn’t really affect the Ducks asking price at all

EDM is going to have to pay more than any other team simply because they are in-division.

EDIT: and any team acquiring Gibson is doing so thinking he is the long term solution for their goalie issues and will give up a package that shows that

This was funny, well done!!! However, he's a risk worth taking, especially when the alternative is Skinner as the 1A and/or Mike Smith, Skinner may be worth it but unproven...

I don't know. I guess I really don't see Anaheim moving him just for the sake of moving him. Yam hasn't been good in a couple of years, Samo is pretty fringy at this point and depth LD's aren't really a need (he's waiver eligible and would be behind a number of LD's that the Ducks already have, plus a 3rd and Klef who isn't going to play again.

I think Verbeek will still need an offer that he can’t pass on to deal Gibby

Agreed. There's no rush-he didn't demand a trade.

I just don't get the point of a lot of these...like, I get "buy low", but the most recent NHL exec poll had him ranked as the 5th best goalie in the league, which clearly shows that they value him.

It’s a good thing nobody here is actually running a team! Love the ‘he isn’t good anymore’ but are still trading for him while saying he fixes everything

I love the unintended but utterly hilarious irony of titling a post "Missing Piece" but arguing with us that he's $h!t.

Maybe the missing piece is referring to the 4th win of a 1st round of the playoffs?
