We have no interest in our young pieces for the future for your old man Petry

Oh,cap strapped Florida sent a good centre on ELC for a middling 5.5m player. Wings spend a little more than 4.4m Dvorak on a UFA and keeps their picks.

Everyone knows Anderson doesn’t have remotely the same value as Lundell….

Terrible...

That Detroit trade is brutal, so is the Anaheim trade...

but Lundell for Josh Anderson??...like come on. At least try to make it realistic. This was meant to be a joke, right?

The rebuilding Ducks dont give up any positive asset for Petry, let alone very good young players like Lundestrom and Pastujov.

How about Caufield for Kevin Shattenkirk?

Everyone easily declines, these are all terribly slanted in Montreal's favor.

I mean, I appreciate the attempt at cooking up something new with these deals but these are nuts.

-Petry doesn't fit Anaheim's rebuild timeline, but even if they did I can't see them giving up this package. Mayyyybe you can convince them to part with Max Comtois one-for-one if they like Petry, but a 22 year old center and an 18 year old with top 6 potential is a huge overpay.

-Anton Lundell, as a 20 year old rookie, nearly matched Josh Anderson's career high in points this season. He's also a center (more valuable than a winger) and is still on his ELC, which is probably the most important part to Florida. They might give you back something of value if you take back Patric Hornqvist's $5.3M deal, but that's the only way that I see them making a move for Josh Anderson.

-The Dvorak value seems fine but I think you get that from a contending team looking to replace a 2C instead of a rebuilding team with less of a need for a guy like him. Detroit passes but I dunno, maybe the Rangers bite on that if Copp & Strome get too pricey?

I think the Detroit one is closer than the consensus opinion. I would probably swing this trade if we weren't able to get Trocheck, Strome, Strome, Copp, etc. to come to Detroit. Not ideal, but not such an overpayment as to be completely unrealistic.

Wings may offer a 2nd and a guy like Erne or Smith for Dvorak but 2 2nds is too steep. Can likely find a similar player in free agency and not give up any futures.

I mean we are rebuilding but id be more interested in selling off older less valuable assets, picking up plugs like shattdueces is a good way to rebuild though because you can add surplus value from other pieces, this one could work if we switched the pieces around
