Description
Jack was solid. Just get a reliable back up, and focus on getting some depth scoring and a legit top 6 forward. I think this team will be fine. Colorado seems to be doing fine with average goaltending

Except for the very unlikely chance of the Leafs being able to trade Muzzin and Mrzarek, and their cap stays as Leafs......

How is a single fan-base so blind to every response to trades that have been made multiple times a day?

Kings don't want Muzzin.

Roy is better, and significantly more valuable, than Muzzin.

Kings aren't trading Roy.

Holl and Kerfoot as a base trade for Puljujarvi is interesting, although i think the leafs still add something to it. Mrazek will not get a 4th back.

where is there a report of not wanting muzzin? not saying we'd get Roy back, or anything of substance, but you dont know that they wouldnt take muzz back.

I'm speaking about the 1000+ trades where every single Kings fan has sounded off with the logic and reasoning behind why LA would -likely- not bring back Muzzin.

Of course, none of us are ACTUALLY in the know. But many of us follow the team religiously, and at least have a solid idea of the direction/type of players the Kings want. From everything that Rob Blake has said, a 33 year old is not that type of player. And that's not even bringing into account his injury history, nor his cap hit.

From a Leaf fan perspective:

- We see a team that, to be frank, overachieved this year. That doesnt mean they cant do it again, i like what the kings are building. Adding muzzin could be a good addition next season.
- I see a team with 1 left shot D under contract.
- A team Muzzin is comfortable and familiar with
- A team that Muzzin will accept to go to. He has a NTC.

I also doubt the Kings will take him back, but out of 31 teams the leafs could trade him to, they are the most likely destination if he moves at all.

All of those points have been address ad nauseum, though, from a Kings perspective.

- There are cheaper options with a more reliable health bill that can fill in a spot if they need. Namely, Maatta and Edler would both be cheaper, willing to sign short contracts, and have played in TMac's system already. And there are more expensive options that are SIGNIFICANTLY better than Muzzin and worth the extra cost if the Kings decide to go that route -- ie Chychrun, Provorov/Sanheim, or Sergachev.

- The 1 LD under contract is going to be addressed very soon. Mikey Anderson (our #1LD) will probably be getting a contract somewhere between $3-4mil and anchors the top pair with Drew Doughty. Jacob Moverare will be qualified. And like I said, if absolutely necessary, the Kings will go a cheaper contract for Edler or Maatta to round out the left side.

- Points 3 and 4 have to be made under the assumption that BOTH teams want that. And I'm fairly confident LA doesn't. We have a lot of love for Muzzin and what he provided for LA during our strong years. But his time with this organization has passed.

Moverare and Anderson are rfa and will be resigned. Walker can play the left side. Plus bjornfot that is 4 left dmen.
You think Muzzin will only waive for LA is really the reason.
If thats the case you arent getting value back in trade like Roy. The Kings would rather spend that cap and getting a goal scorer or a dman that would actually make them better.
Try some other teams. St Louis he would probably waive for and they could use him. Maybe the Ducks, Hawks, Panthers if you take cap back… Get creative. The Muzzin to LA for roy or a 2nd is tired

Los Angeles doesn't want a 33-year-old defenseman with a cap hit large enough to virtually preclude any other significant off-season acquisition unless you also get Iafallo or Petersen (because we won't be sending Roy) in the trade, too, which is going to take a LOT more from your side to bring home. I've done (without posting) over a dozen trial ACGMs signing Forsberg or trading for Fiala or Chychrun or Provorov or Sergachev and there's very little cap space there.
