Habs can likely get a better package without including one of their 1sts

Deal

The isles aren’t trading a 13 overall pick for a winger exiting his prime.

That's not close for a Petry deal. Detroit wouldn't be willing to part with what it would take for Petry, unless they suddenly think they can deal first round picks.

Lol you think petry’s Albatross final years of his contract have value

No one not named Holland is going to pay for 3 years of a declining 34 year old at 6m

I'd believe you if there wasn't already GMs during the season saying he had value. Also don't know where 'declining' came from, he had a rough start to the season then looked like his normal self.

He is going to get the Habs a good return, late first and a prospect likely. Won't be a ridiculously good return like they would have gotten had they dealt him last off season or even the trade deadline before that but I'd wager he still has a very positive reputation among NHL GMs

Petry's final years aren't an albatross, lol. Petry was one of the best D-men in the NHL the 2nd half of the season, he's not declining, he had a bad 38 games in a stretch of 4-5 seasons as 1B/2 D-man.

The main reason he's being shopped is because he wants to be in the US, there's no chance Montreal pays to move him.

Not for every player. There a ton of players that dominate until they are in their early 30's.

Players who dominate until their early 30s are usually superstar forwards, that is not Bertuzzi. Not saying he will be a bad player, but it’s very likely Bertuzzi has peaked.

If Petry is so good, why does every Habs ACGM want to trade him?
