Team: 2022-23 Edmonton Oilers
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 14, 2022
Published: Jun. 14, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This AGM is only me putting together a team based around the assumption a Josh Anderson trade occurs.

1. This is not me advocating for the trade to happen.

2. IF Keith does not retire then I see no way for EDM to pull this off

3. The bigger needs are the Defensive group & Goalie Tandem

I don't think anybody is trading for Anderson with that contract

Except reports are out there saying that Hughes already turned down some good offers and that it would take a "godfather" of an offer form him to be traded.

I think you'd be surprised how high he is viewed around the league. You will disagree but he isnt moved unless the habs get an offer they can't refuse... 1st round pick and a b level prospect.

Habs have no use for Barrie, easy decline from them IMO

I wouldn't even entertain either of those players for Anderson 1-1. The contract is far to risky for Edmonton.

I could see the Habs taking that if they decide to trade Anderson.

Seravelli reported that teams are consistently calling for him & the Habs possibly declined some tempting offers.

Really?? Maybe he has some intangibles I'm unfamiliar with but from the outside looking in I wouldn't want that contract anywhere near my team lol

There aren't many players with that frame/skillset to teams can tend to overpay for those because of the short supply.

That's fair. I still wouldn't, but I agree teams would.

I would also think Montreal take that, but it would depend on Price situation ( if he cannot comeback, we need Allen)

Why would anyone believes a reporter or what a GM says to reporter seem nonsensical. Either Seravelli is bored and has to make or a story. Or Hughes tells a Seravelli that Anderson is in "demand", just trying to get create trade interest in 5.5m, third line forward

It's up to you if you believe it or not, I'm not here to convince you. People laughed when reporters stated that Lehkonen and Chiarot would fetch big returns and the results speak for themselves. The hypocrisy in this scenario is that if those same reporters said it would take a 1st to dump Petry, other fanbases will believe them because it doesn't advantage the Habs.

Pierre LeBrun tweet, 2022/06/11, 12:30 PM:

"It would have to be real significant. Habs turned down some serious offers for Anderson before March 21 trade deadline. My sense is K. Hughes never mentions his name to his GM counterparts but they keep asking about him. Habs aren't planning on moving him, but never say never"

    Right? lol

All honesty, we in Habs Land love Anderson for a reason. I get the contract is suss, but he'd look great on the wing for a contender, not a rebuilder.

** Edit: as a secondary scoring option

    Have a great day homie!

Haha yeah I get that. Even before Kreider randomly scored 50 and was inconsistent AF but a speedy big body in the middle 6, when we thought he wouldn't live up to the 6x6.5 contract, he was a fan favorite.

Cheers to you as well and hope you guys can score the second overall pick from NJ somehow!
