Your explanation is spot-on and you have a lot of reasonable things here, but there is no way in hell the Blues will be handing Barbashev to Colorado. And the reason they may not just get something for him, is that it might be worth more to just keep him here for one more cup run even if he ends up going away for nothing. I suppose it depends on what they can get for him.

Oh... and this team still needs a proper Bozak replacement for 4C. Brown is not at all suited for this role.

Guys Perron is not signing for less than his last contract. We can keep dreaming, but it's not going to happen. I get he wants to stay in St. Louis, but he could certainly get $6M as a UFA. A team friendly deal would still be around 5 million

I’ve seen you comment this on a few. Jeremy Rutherford projected Perron to sign a deal around 2x3.5M

My bad, you're right. Still ludicrous though. If he signs for anything under 5 mill that will be an absolute steal for the Notes. I hope it happens, but is he really going to take that much of a pay cut on perhaps his final contract just because he loves the org/city? I just don't see it.

I'll have whatever JR is having thank you very much!

Read the below article. Perron's market value is around $8M given his play over the past few seasons. If he hits FA, he'll get around $6M per year. Just zero chance he takes 3.5M lol idc how much he loves the city.

I like the Detroit trade, seems to be good for both sides.
