So the Islanders are giving up Anthony Beauvillier and their 2nd rounder this year to get a a guy that's 9 years older, costs $1M+ more against the cap even with retention, would be forcing someone to play out of position, and had a grand total of 3 more points than Anthony this year?

Incredibly easy pass by the Isles IMO.

Oh trust me, I think the Isles are getting fleeced here as well. It's just a deal I could see Lou Lamoriello doing, definitely wouldn't do it myself, but it's my perspective as the Blackhawks GM and something I think Lou would do

You really think Lou would look at his lineup card with Mat Barzal, Brock Nelson, JG Pageau, and Casey Cizikas (all signed with term and/or $5M+ cap hits) and think "Man, the one thing this lineup needs is *another* center making $5M+!"

Don’t you know every ACGM knows exactly what Lou will do. They all can see it, although the only trades he has done with the NYI was given up picks for players of need in Palmeri and Pageau.

Lou protected Cal Clutterbuck and Matt Martin over Jordan Eberle and gave Ross Johnston a four-year deal.

I mean, he signed a 4th line project player to a deal that can be completely buried if need be and then put Seattle in a position to take on one of the $5M+ deals he was trying to clear out last summer. While he has his own affinity for grinders like Clutterbuck/Martin/Johnston, he usually keeps them around on cheap deals (Martin is $1.5M, Clutterbuck is $1.75M, Johnston is $1.1M) that can be cast away to Robidas Island without much, if any, cap penalty. If you want to act like Lou is the only GM that's had to dig out of a hole since COVID caused the flat cap, I can't stop you, but I will tell you when you're suggesting moves that don't make much sense for a team that already has 4 centers better than a 34 year old Jonathan Toews.

A better Kane trade is to Pitt for Marino, a 1st, and a 3rd round pick.

Hawks shouldn't give away DeBrincat like that.
