I actually really like this. The only tough part for me is signing Husso... Although I think him and Geo are the only two you could sign for that AAV in this market. I would Keep Nemo and Raph down in the AHL this year. And then sign Russell for like $850k (one year) and he could be your 7th D. Probably add another low end forward for close to league minimum as well. I wonder what Hawks fans think of the Debrincat and Strome trade. I would think it is enough. Although you could probably re-sign Evander for almost the exact same cost and keep picks and prospects. But with the theme of the team, I like it!

The "Kid" Line would be an absolute handful!

Love it, but would utilize Brad Malone on the 4th line leave Motte out of it.

Hawks decline, Kassian is a cap dump, the 2022 1st is 29th overall, the 2024 first is likely a late first, and Puljujarvi will probably be in his 30s by the time the hawks are a playoff team.

Pretty sure every team not named Edmonton and maybe Arizona would pass. Seattle isn’t looking to be competitive for these next couple of years, and trading away a high round pick in the process is also not happening. Canes already did the Derek Ryan experiment. It failed, which is why he no longer plays for the Canes. Love the guy, but the Canes already have enough of a log jam in their bottom 6, without even including guys that could be promoted from Chicago. The Arizona trade might happen, who knows. And the Hawks definitely pass. 29OA, more than likely another late first, PJ who couldn’t put up 40 pts next to McDavid and Draisaitl, who also would be either going on 30 or in his 30’s when the Hawks come out of their rebuild, a cap dump in Kassian don’t interest the Hawks that much. Savioe and Bourgault don’t make up the difference in terms of high quality value.
