Description
if Lou fks up this offseason like he did last season, this team is likely heading for another 3/5 years of misery while all the long term contracts clear up.

phil kessel is kind of a joke since i doubt he takes a vet min/parise type deal but if he did id absolutely entertain it

Not enough for DeBrincat

at that point id probably just shift to fiala since hed probably cost around a first a 2nd and something else (since his comp is most likely a 1st, 2nd, 3rd)

That would probably be the better option, the Wild don't have much leverage right now. The hawks have no pressure to make a move unless they get a crazy offer like they did for Hagel.

Honestly, I'd love to see how Isles look just as is, without big moves. I think they're gonna move away from the Trotz defensive game and play more run and gun

Fiala probably a better target, Wild have lost leverage being that they can't afford his extension or have to move pieces to be able to afford.

CHI won't move CAT for the above proposal.

Id feel disappointed with that. 13OA + Raty are the good pieces but id want a more high end prospect coming back preferrably.

I feel NYI would find it tough to get a CAT move across the line if the other interested teams come in with proposals.

Wahlstrom is also a high end piece imo. He hasn't done much yet in the NHL but I was super high on him coming out in the draft the year the hawks took Boqvist 8th OA. NYI would also have to send cap back, probably Bailey. I would guess their offer is either: Wahlstrom, Raty, Bailey. 13th OA, 2nd OR Wahlstrom, Holmstrom, Bailey, 13th OA, 2023 1st. Hawks can retain half on Bailey and flip him to another team for a 2nd. He had 45 ish points last year and should have a good amount of interest at 2.5M x 2

I'm yet to be fully convinced on Wahlstrom but he still has time on his side and the right opportunity could change that. If NJD or LAK come in with offers, it could get hard for NYI to compete with those sort of proposals.

Not to say this is a dismissive offer but just feel there could be better offers on the table.

I agree, in theory NJ,LA, and OTT have the most to offer. It's just a question of whether or not they will part with the pieces CHI fans on this site are suggesting. Whether that be 2OA+Holtz, Clarke+Turcotte, or Pinto+Grieg+7th OA, in every case there I think it makes more sense for those teams to keep their assets and stay the course. I understand Debrincat will command a large return, I would expect the deal to only include one of the "A" quality pieces these teams have, not two or three

Hopefully we keep CAT if we aren't getting a hansom return.
