It would be better to trade Zucker with 50% retention than buy him out. Not that they are going to do either.

He has a M-NTC so that makes it a little harder to deal him. I’m all for trading him but the return would suck

Not as much as people like to think. His is a 10 team NTC, that means that there are still 20 teams that he can be traded to without clause related issue. A full NTC would be an issue. Something like Kessel's which was basically a 27 team NTC (only 3 options) is an issue. Ability to do 20, not really a problem. Also, even if a team is on the 10 team list, the player could still waive (maybe there is only 7 that he really doesn't want).

While I do not think that Sullivan wants Zucker moved at all...

Zucker @2.25M for (one of 20 teams) for FCs... Many many teams would jump at Zucker at $2.25M.

10 teams is a lot though for someone with a bad contract and injury problems. He'll veto to the 10 worst teams and the rest most likely think they have a shot at the playoffs so don't want to take on a cap dump. It's not easy

It's still an easy trade. People overrate the impact of most M-NTCs.

How so though?

It's 10 teams that he can veto a trade with. Logically speaking he isn't going to want to go to a garbage team. 16 make the playoffs and won't take him on as a cap dump. I don't think I'm overrating it - and I don't see how that's an easy trade

Maybe fans just think that players are MUCH more petty than they actually are. Business, family, weather, taxes, there are a lot more factors than just "Are they contenders?" that goes into decisions. Plus, as I mentioned, the contract says 10, but reality is that there might only be 7 that he doesn't want to go to. Maybe even none that he would veto.

That's fair. Maybe LA teams he would accept being from there. Yeah, I know it doesn't have to be exactly 10, just no more than 10.
