If the Leafs could afford to take on Ulmark, they'd re-sign Campbell.

There are plenty of guys to acquire for leadership...doesn't mean anyone would give you something for a bad contract because you use that excuse...you'd have to pay to dump Foligno.

Way too much for pasta.

Kind of a joke for foligno. Hes big time negative value.

Why is a team entering a rebuild moving a 25 year old top four d man with 5 years term?

Nobody is giving up assets for cologne at this point. Was a bad signing and is now a cap dump.

Generally if you're rebuilding you don't move Pasta, Debrusk and Carlo. those are all guys in the sweet spot of age and contracts. you rebuild to get guys like Pasta and while I don't love Carlo he's young and on a good contract with term. the pieces they would need to move would be Reilly, Gryz, foligno, Coyle, Haula, Smith maybe Hall for as many picks as you can get (i can't bring myself to say Marchy as i'll never condone that trade)

you want to build around Lindholm, McAvoy, Carlo Pasta, Debrusk, Swayman. then use Beecher, Lysell, Studnicka and other younger guys in the middle or bottom 6.

OTT declines,

Batherson may be one of the best value contracts in the NHL right now, and Sens wouldn't pony up for the extension he would need with Norris, Stuzlte, and Sanderson all coming in the next 3 years.

From an Ottawa perspective, Batherson is not available. There is also no need to retain salary on Pasta. Connor Brown or Alex Formenton would be roster players that can be included instead.

I dont understand your logic here. how is Pulju remotely as valuable as debrusk? debrusk is a year and a half older and has double the production in a similar time frame games wise. carlo a 3rd and a 4th for scandella who is a cap dump and a late first with a 3rd round swap... thats severely devaluing an asset thats signed long term to a decent contract is it not? chiarot went for a first and a 2nd and carlo is better than him. gotta add more if we are taking scandella.... kassian isnt going to be a bruin so you can nix the crowse deal altogether. forbort has + value to a team. bruins could simply retain and hes a solid cheap bottom pairing guy on a contender that has ++ value thats not attach a 4th and ship out for nothing.

Pulju has a far better defensive game, he could easily win selke one day, debrusk wants out and pulju would be a good replacement for Bergeron even tho he’s not quite him

debrusk has a pretty good defensive game too, hes not bad when hes actually engaged. the scary part is pulju... hes playing with big time scorers in mcdavid and leon and isnt even half ppg. debrusk paired with bergy and march was at least almost ppg quality player. sorry man i just dont see the value there at all. ESPECIALLY to take kassian too.

the part where you sent out assets and didnt really rebuild anything. NOTABLE positions of weakness for the bruins: farm depth especially at forward, RD depth beyond carlo theres really not alot in the system. CENTER DEPTH AT NHL LEVEL. you sent out our best scoring right winger at 26 yo for batherson and 2 firsts, which by other comments ottawa wants no part of. you sent out a 20 goal winger and a second and got back 2 similar players that are essentially career 3rd liners. pulju might be a fringe 2nd liner too early to tell but so far not looking great. sent out carlo for a late 1st and late round swaps. wheres the BUILD part of the REBUILD...

only reason its terrible for pasta is because batherson looks like a stud and he's paired with pick 7. but yeah if anything ottawa is sending prospects. IDK why we keep seeing ottawa as landing spots for pasta honestly. they have a bunch of young guys that are going to need new deals soon too, they're building the right way. once these guys start maturing a little bit watch out.

Where is the direct quote from Pasta saying he wants out? hasn't happened and his agent said they want to get an extension in place in July. Debrusk is a different story but with Cassidy gone I could see him being ok staying and getting top 6 mins especially with Marchand out.

Go read the statements he made about his unhappiness with bruins management and doesn’t want to stay with them if Sweeney is still gm

those statements dont exist. Fluto Shinzawa twisted words for a story thats essentially a non story. Those "statements" were rumors that were already addressed as untrue.
