Crowed crease

Considering he'll be coming off an injury and had a meh AHL year, he could use the extra AHL year, however after that, I'd expect him to backup Merz

I have no idea who this guy is and he's probably irrelevant, but toying with his "scoop" - Anderson to NJD, Zacha to CBJ, futures to MTL

Don’t forget the fact that almost every single player is trending up, and the 2 or 3 that aren’t are remaining flat, nobody’s trending down lol

It pains me every day that the islanders would have a cup if they didn’t trade Devon Toews

I hope his hip is fully healed. He’ll likely be the backup (or even 1B a la Samsonov-Vanacek if the King falls off a cliff) by year 2 of the deal.

So do I have to trust Kevin Weekes as a legitimate insider now lol? I still remember last year when he broke like 2 or 3 things that were obviously false (clearly just being fed info by one side or another to drive up prices, e.g. the Tkachuk+2 1sts+2 prospects for Eichel thing), which real insiders should know is fake until they confirm with someone else. But he did break a lot of trades and seems to be the first guy to get a lotta coaching stuff. Do we think he’s legit now? I’m down to bump Dreger down the insider rankings tbh, never really trusted him since it was made clear he’s a Darren Ferris mouthpiece (even though I was a big fan a decade ago).

Dreger is terrible and loves to push other teams agenda's. He speaks nonsense IMO.

1. Friedman
2. Weeks
3. Johnston
3. Lebrun
4. Seravalli
5. Custance/Marek

Seravalli that low? I'd honestly think about putting him at #1 (him or Friedman), with Lebrun at 3.

Wow Weekes that high? Those are usually the guys I trust though tbh. If none of Friedge/CJ/LeBrun/Seravalli/Bob have tweeted about a big thing, I generally don’t believe it. Because even if someone else does get there first, one or more of them will usually confirm it. Some of The Athletic writers are usually pretty solid/trustworthy too (especially concerning their own teams), although they don’t tend to break as much news.

I can see that I should not have put numbers, this wasn't a ranking, more of the guys who I consider legit.

That was confusing so my bad

At this point I think he's one of the most trustworthy. And aside from that, his announcement videos crack me up every time. I still remember the one from the barber shop at the TDL, I spat out the water in my mouth when I saw that lol

I think the issue I have with Seravalli is that sometimes it can be difficult to differentiate between news, rumours, and then just speculations he might have. I like that Friedge is extremely pedantic about specifying which category everything he says falls into (it can be annoying to listen to sometimes, but at least you’re certain the information is always accurate/trustworthy), but it takes a little more thinking to parse through Seravalli’s stuff (probably because he’s big on driving clicks with headlines, which is fine, whereas Friedge has earned that top insider spot by being reliable, and everyone in hockey reads his stuff for that reason anyway).

It would suck to lose Carbery after just one season. The PP did struggle again in the post season but was lights out in the reg.

The only thing that annoys me about Friedman are his team abbreviations. Like, just use the proper abbreviationstears of joy

Also would throw in the list of reliable guys Eric Engels (covers the Habs for SN), Mark Masters (Leafs for SN), and of course Joe Smith (Lightning for The Athletic). All 3 are terrific.
