why is Toronto giving up a first when Kerfoot is the best player in the deal and Holl is actually serviceable?

I don't understand the moves, seems like you decided to just move out all their offense for defense/offensive dman which doesn't guarantee that they will end up low, especially of that leads to Kuemper or Driedger actually putting up decent numbers.

Edit. Perhaps you are just looking to trade away the acquired rentals if they do good, and have AHL players replace them but still seems like a lot of lateral movement that could backfire.

Most of those trades heavily favor Seattle. The Edmonton and Toronto ones especially.

you also get 2 years at 4.5 per year of cap relief. Barrie is a bottom pair Dman and is paid to much you could replace him with anyone.

Canucks would be better off keeping their 2023 1st and Seattle would be better off keeping McCann

yes he will be traded to a team that needs an offensive dman and PP quaterback for a postive value. this has been talked about by many analysts they will be able to get a 2nd or 3rd back.
they do not need to pay to dump him.

If it was kassian different story

Seattle doesn't need to make any of these trades in order to be a bad team. They will likely finish at or very near the bottom regardless. Seattle's pick will be a lottery pick. They'll have a good chance at Bedard or Michkov. They're much better off keeping the good vets they have like Gourde, McCann and Dunn and have those guys be the leaders of the team and mentor young players as they build through the draft getting top picks over the next 3-4 years.

That said. None of these trades will happen anyway.

i doubt that, but who knows, 4.5 for a guy who has to play bottom pair on a team with weak D. i cant see his value.

well that what every analyst i have heard said. i know it hard to comprehend but if you look at history for Dmen who can put up 40-50 points a season and run your pp theres a market.
The fact he played 3rd pair ( if you look at edmonton they really have a bunch of second pairs TBH) and still put up points at 41 half 5 on 5 half on pp is impressive imagine what he could do with more ice time....
