Can't see wings accepting this, they have plenty of LD prospect depth already

Big Svech doesn’t do much for Canes other than baby bro probably liking to have him around. Unless Canes moves on from Lorentz or some other guys I can’t see a move like this happening. Few AHL guys are ready to take next steps so there’s just no room for Svech in bottom 6.

Just saw a video by winnipeg media of trading pick 14 and heinola to move up and thought Detroit could be a fit maybe the sens but they probably won't want a small side dman just an idea tho maybe buffalo at 9 entertains it or even columbus at 6 just any team in the top 10 but obviously the deals would be altered for whatever pick it is

Just seen some cane agm with trading for svech probably a divide in the fan base if he is needed and wanted so that's understandable just seeing if that offer was something that would intice

I mean baby Svech is the face of the franchise so keeping him happy has his merits but at end of day it’s a business and he’s signed long term so moving assets for what would amount to a replaceable 4th liner is bad business.

If we signed him as a UFA down road at some point and cleared some existing 4th liners like Marty or Lorentz than that would make more sense.

I can see that because this trade really favors Winnipeg. Until you see the Detroit media playing it I wouldn't get my hopes up.

I would say big bro Svech is more than a 4th line plug and has the skill to be effective anywhere buy ig he isn't valued that highly by other teams for a 25 point on a non playoff team would love to keep him but he likely isn't a long term player with chaz and other prospects so trade him while we can type of deal

Yeah I get it. I just can’t see where he fits in on canes outside of 4th line so probably not a great on ice fit

Yeah also doesn't have to be this year could be deadline or 2nd year of contract just doesn't have a fit on our team for long with prospects coming up and seen it a bit with Keane

There wasn't even a trade mention or a team just the idea and I took that so don't blame the media that's on me but there is probably a team that would entertain a deal formated with 14 and heinola with other pieces if needed

Yeah but that was before he changed his whole view and became a 20 point player that doesn't look out of place in the top 6 and can probably be a skillful 30 point guy

we could get one of those in UFA without having to give up Suzuki.

It's the svech factor and I've just seen the canes agm trade for him a bit so this is what I came up with you're welcome to not agree with it but he could be a player they pursue for a cheaper skillful play to play anywhere and have the brother connection

Heinola isn't better than Edvinsson or Wallinder so he'd be fighting with Johansson for a spot in the 3rd pair. So from Detroit's pov they drop back 6 spots from 8th to 14th for a 3rd pair dman and a 5th round pick.

That's fair enough maybe Detroit wouldn't be the best option just first team that came to mind that needed nhl ready lhd sorry if this is insulting just trying a new idea of heinola and 14 and whatever for 5-9 overall

Ryan Suzuki doesn’t need a change of scenery, he just needs to stay healthy.

Even when we was playing 14 points in 34 games is a decrease from the previous year when he wasn't injured I'd say this year in the ahl is the make or break year in his development as another year below 0.5 ppg would be very bad for his value being a first

I don't understand these Svechnikov trades. He looked great with Connor and PLD, and made up the best line the team had, and people want to trade him?

Stick with Heinola. He has a great first pass and a cool temperament in the back end.

How could you possibly think Detroit would be interested in a LD prospect?

We have eight (!) LD that are 23 years or younger in Edvinsson, Johansson, Juolevi, Viro, McIsaac, Buium, Wallinder, and Sebrango.

Ville Heinola was the best defenceman in the AHL this year and is only 21 years old, I really don't like that trade for the Jets honestly

His projected value has zero to do with him needing a change of scenery and everything to do with the fact he just can’t stay healthy.

Last year was his first year in the AHL, can’t really take anything from that in COVID world when he typically would have been playing his last year of junior eligibility.

You can't use staying healthy when it is one season and not over a period of time bro

Just don't think he fits as he would be 3rd pair below Samberg and Morrissey so he's locked there
