My Ideal Offseason

Description
Gibson moved because we have depth in the pipeline in the near term (Stolarz) and long-term (Dostal and Clang), and he’ll be at the end of his prime and contract by the time we’re competing. Steel needs a change of scene, and Grant is a bottom 6 cherry on top. Love the size and upside of both Broberg and Holloway for ANA, though EDM would be reluctant to move these two.

Boeser to lock up the right side with Terry and (in a year) Perreault for the foreseeable future. Reluctant to trade Helleson but Van needs RD and I’m addressing RD later

Lucic added for the contract without term to hit the floor and draft compensation to go with it. Not sure he’d leave ANA open as a trade option but I think he does have a place in SoCal.

Trade up with Philly to #5 to get a young RD, whichever is left there after Wright, Slaf, and Cooley go in the top 4

Not confident at all Flowers would sign here, but maybe with a meaty contract he could be enticed. He’d help hit the floor without term and provide great leadership. Wouldn’t have to be overworked either with Stolarz there to back up.

$16M off the books next year between Flowers, Shat, and Lucic when new contracts will hit for a bunch of the youth. Another $14M the year after between Henrique, Silf, and Kassian for the next wave of re-signs.

Fowler gets the “C”, Henrique and Silf (if healthy) get the “A”

VAN is looking to bring back Boeser. Also, he only signs that contract with VAN.

broberg and holloway are off the table.

High pedigree players who are ready for NHL jobs on entry level contracts are exactly what oilers need rn

I personally wouldn't want to give up 2 guaranteed top half of the roster prospects for a washed goalie on a bad contract but that's just me

I really don't want to move down in the draft, but that's not a bad offer
