If wings made this trade and I doubt they do, they would draft Cooley over slaf

I really, really dislike this trade from a Wings perspective. Potentially 3 top 6 players (8oa, Bert, Z) is too much for 2oa.

I don't disagree here. This is the package i felt got the trade done.

This is me thinking Zadina will be a bust and not that high on bert. Bert a third liner on a contender? Zadina never lives up to the hype. A potential shot at Bedard. If this is the case do you think its worth it?

A Center is definitely needed. But imagine potentially having bedard and slafkovsky one day. Reminds me of a certain two players on the oilers

Finishing dead last only gives you a 18.5% of picking first. Don’t bank on selecting a 1C next year when you can grab a C that’s equivalent talent to a winger. These high selections are where you grab your franchise centers or top pairing defensemen.

I would disagree on Bertuzzi, but it doesn't matter. This team is arguably better than our 2021-22 team, so I don't think it gets you a top 2 pick without lottery luck, which we don't have. I just think it's not worth it to spend this many valuable resources on a hope, without acquiring a young C in the process.

If there were this sort of trade, it would probably just be Bertuzzi and 8th for 2nd.
Zadina still has potential, but probably doesn't move the needle all that much in a trade this size.

Also, I think Bertuzzi has had words for Hughes in past.
So not sure it would be the most welcoming clubhouse.
Not that should matter a while lot.

This isn’t the draft to trade up based on our pick. For example I’ve seen fans propose a first round pick in the teens for Bert. So would I rather Cooley or Gauthier/Savoie + Kasper/Mesar/Nazar/McGroarty and I know where I’d prefer to go.

Bert should be a sign and trade, if not he likely isn’t moved prior to the 2022 draft. Sign and trade will raise his value.

Hold on to the 8OA. Wings are not in a position to package futures, but all for trying to acquire the 2OA. Would rather see a package of Bert (sign and trade) + Hronek.

Actually, I have heard of it.

This post is pretty much just for fun. Just an idea with hopes of scoring Bedard.

Have you heard of having fun and not being miserable? Clearly you haven't. Please watch your tone with me, yikes. hushed

This is a ridiculous overpay. It would be ridiculous without our first going to them. Did they change the rules? Are you allowed to draft more than one player with the pick? If Derek Stepan gets you the 7th in a similar draft, I'm sure Bertuzzi with a nod nod wink wink extension is more than enough. What are the chances Cooley even becomes anything close to Bertuzzi? True power forwards make high scoring right handed D look common. There's a reason that people are throwing really good offers to Montreal for Josh Anderson.

hmm, i don't think its all that ridiculous. A lot to factor in and depends a lot on what our GM sees in these players. but i see what you're getting at. I have Zadina in bust territory (hope I'm wrong) and I'm really just not that high on Bert. Kind of a sloppy player. Hard worker but tough to watch sometimes. I feel we should get what we can for him now. Maybe this isnt the deal but he could definitely be used to help us for the future

I would only consider it if we think a center better than Larkin is sitting there at 2, otherwise, no chance.

Should probably remove the word competitive from the title. This is not a competitive team.

Re-sign Walman instead of letting him walk for nothing.

At least hit the cap floor. Even if that is just trading for LTIR cap dumps.

Competitive given some clear strides forward from our youth*** so i see what you mean. im banking on guys like soderblom, edvinsson and berggren coming in and making a difference

Whatever makes the team better for now and the future; I'm all for. If the return is right I don't mind trading Bertuzzi but you're really undervaluing him here. He is really coveted and respected around the league...skill wise. I think it was either Friedeman or Dreger that quoted a rival GM saying Bertuzzi is a slightly less talented version of Brad Marchand. Supposedly, Montreal is receiving offers for Josh Anderson that are very tempting and he can't hold a candle to what Bertuzzi is now. Every other ACGM on here is trading for him. There's a reason for that fact.

I do agree with you about Cooley but even losing the draft lottery in 2023 would get us Adam Fantilli and I'd be fine with that result.

I disagree Bertuzzi scores goals and generates offense no matter who he is playing with. That ability to generate offense is part of the reason why Larkin was able stay on the top line with Raymond all season. Look at Tom Wilson he's been Washington top 6 for years and when they won the cup wasn't he on the 1st line with Backstrom and Ovie. Now Bertuzzi is quite a bit better than Wilson and he doesn't take cheap shots like Wilson. A top line of Bertuzzi - Larkin - Raymond their individual skill sets mesh really well similar to Marchand - Bergeron - Pasta.

Watch your tone with me??? Are you 11 years old or something? If you can't take a little criticism, this site likely isn't for you. Your trade was awful, that's all there is to it.

That's fine, I'd probably take a similar view as yours.
I'm just responding the trade above.

It was Bertuzzi, #8, three other minor pieces for the #2.
I was saying Detroit gives less.
