I think so too. Flames can grab Holtz and Cooley or Slafovsky while the Devils acquire one of the best players in the NHL. Could be in piece that moves them forward as a team

Isn't this the almost identical trade that I see for DeBrincat that won't be good enough. But it is good enough for Tkachuk?

Almost every Hawks fan has okayed this trade for Cat. I've been the one posting those trades. Tkachuk should be target 1, Cat #2 IMO

Yea Definitely. I'm just saying all I ever see is that Holtz and 20a isn't moving Cat.

Different skill sets.
Tkachuk fits the Devils need.
DeBrincat less so.

I would offer a lot more for Tkachuk than DeBrincat
(also, Flames not looking to trade MT. Can't say same about Cat)

Ya as a Flames fan I would love that deal. It actually looks like it would benefit both teams.

Bad deal for the flames. Devils gonna have to pay more than that for this deal to make sense. Tkachuk fits our window, these guys dont.

Your right about the skill set. Cat is a pure sniper usually set up at the bottom of the circle down low but does occasionally drive to the front. Tkachuk is a power forward in the truest sense. Shoots from anywhere. Tip ins, deflections. Screens.

That Being said you couldn't be really upset if we got DeBrincat if we tried to deal with Calgary but they wanted the moon for Tkachuk

I would be. DeBrincat doesn't help us nearly as much as Tkachuk.

Our needs aren't small perimeter scoring forwards

We need better play in front of net, tipping, deflecting, screening, cleaning up rebounds...and in corners battling for puck.

As Fitzy has said, "heavier skill"

Let me ask you about this. Is Josh Anderson a consideration for you? I mean would he fill that Heavier Skill if we could swing a deal with MTL. Not included our 2oa?

No it's only a good deal if Calgary can't sign him long term
