Rangers decline. Nylander would be a target for a Kakko deal.

Teams can just offer sheet Kakko and I don't think the Rangers would be willing to match. The compensation would be a 1st and 3rd should a team offer sheet Kakko to a 4-6 million contract. So there is no really no need for a trade. This trade would benefit the Leafs more, so maybe an additional asset could be added like a prospect.

Wouldn't do Bjorkstrand for Nylander straight up; Bjorkstrand's our best two-way forward. And Texier looks like he's also going to take on that role, which we need.

Not that such details are relevant, because this is a Kerfoot trade and so is easily automatically rejected like the hundreds (possibly thousands) of other Kerfoot-to-the-Jackets trade proposals Leafs fans have come up with over the past three years.

Two way forwards can be picked up in free agency. Young ppg stars like Nylander are usually only available via drafting or trades, so that makes Nylander more valuable than Bjorkstrand.

Bjorkstrand is really good and does something our team needs. His EV WAR is like really high, though he tends to underperform because he doesn't link with teammates as well as you'd like. He's a Jayden Schwartz or Tomas Tatar in prime.

We don't have interest in Kerfoot.

I don't think we mind getting Nylander but right now he and Voracek are doing a lot of the same thing: skating the puck up ice, making good high danger pass, not playing defense. I don't see how we have both on the same roster and give y'all pieces that you want.

You think that's how teams operate? Oh he's getting an OS so let's just sell him short. No dude.

I forgot the BlueJackets had Voracek. But Nylander is more of a sniper than a playmaker. He would actually pair well with Voracrek, more so than Tavares who is also a shoot-first guy like Nylander which is why they don't have good chemistry.

Teams want to be in control of situations. They don't want to lose players to teams unexpectedly. And Kakko hasn't really blossomed on the Rangers so he's a guy that could use a change.

That's where they play Laine though. What they need is a 30 goal 2-way winger like Bjorkstrand.

No reason for Hawks to do that for Mrzarek. Nothing in for Columbus for a total of three years of Nylander/Kerfoot. An overpay by the Leafs for those two Rangers

To this I always say: if your player is so much better than the player you're trying to trade him for... don't make the trade. Just keep your better player. No need to neg us about ours.

Incorrect. Bjorkstrand is our player, therefore we set the price. The answer is still no, and no amount of trade negging is going to change it.
