Created by: BouchBomb
Team: 2022-23 Edmonton Oilers
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 16, 2022
Published: Jun. 16, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
-barrie and perlini to dallas for picks
-smith reties
-Trading klefbomb's contract to make cap space
-bought out kassian
Resigning all RFA's + kulak and russell
Signing Kuzmenko, desluariers, gagner and husso, EDM had shown interest in all these players for a while, I would be surprised if 1 or 2 of these guys didn't end up as oilers next year
-Holloway, Broberg and Skinner get promoted and make the team from training camp
-Rest of the signings is to fill out our AHL roster and have depth on both teams

Not enough for Deslauriers and also probably not enough for McLeod.

Pretty sure a team like BUF or ARI would take on Klefbom (who is LTIRetired) for free. As long as his contract is insured, it costs them nothing and they use his cap hit to exceed the cap floor.

Why are we paying to dump Klefbom?

Why? They get free draft picks for literally nothing

A couple of free draft picks to babysit Klefbom for a season. I'm in.

The only reason for Edmonton to move Klefbom's contract is so they can accrue cap space during the season by not being on LTIR... and yet you're still on LTIR with Mike Smith. So this trade does exactly NOTHING for the Oilers. You've thrown away 2 picks for absolutely no reason.

    Dumb.

    A 5th and a 6th isn't worth spending $4 million for.

As far as I've heard his contract isn't insured and the money still has to be paid.
