Odd that the Ducks would have the same amount of players voting as the Leafs, but Campbell didn't appear on the list...very, very odd...

Stop your poking holes in his very strong and logical argument

Its a voluntary poll. We don't know how many players votes from the various teams. It doesn't take a genius to notice that 3 goalies are above the rest though. After Vasi, Price and Fleury, everyone else floated around 3%. Also doesn't take a genius to notice the best goalie from this season isn't on the list.

So that would completely invalidate your point about Gibson no?

Hilarious

How so? I said it was likely from the Ducks players and with Gibson's recent performances, that's a very reasonable assumption.

Either way, the fact Shesterkin isn't even on the list really says something about the people voting.

It really isnt at all, but you do you

You cant claim we dont know how many players voted from various teams, and then try to invalidate Gibson being ranked 5th by saying "dUcKs PlAyErS aRe ThE oNlY oNeS tHaT vOtEd FoR gIbSoN"

You contradicted yourself, its okay to be wrong

Ok, so in true unAGM fashion...explain why Gibson would be worth anything after 3 bad seasons in a row, with a big contract and lots of term. Bonus points if you can find a comparable player who fetched a premium after that kind of recent resume.

Ah, the most wonderful question of all! Allow me to pen a long essay to answer your question:

-The Ducks have zero reason to trade John Gibson without being overpaid for him.

So, in conclusion, the Ducks have zero reason to trade John Gibson without being overpaid for him.

I'm assuming that covers everything?

Gibson doesn't want to sit through a rebuild plus get the assests while people still think he is good many reason for the ducks to dump him now

That's not a contradiction. He was 5th but with a vote count that is basically identical to 6 and 7. We don't get vote counts going further down but no reason to think it varies much. Saying he was 5th is a vast misrepresentation of the poll.

Is it not odd that your initial reaction was "Bahhhhh probably only Ducks players voted for Gibson!", but when I point out that Campbell isn't on there your immediate reaction is "iT's A vOluNtArY pOlL!!!"

It's hilariously easy to flip the narrative to what suits you best, eh?

Leafs pass, Gibson sucks now

Bahahaha got a good laught out of this one. The sad part is I think you are serious. In reality this would be the worst trade in recent memory for Anaheim. Not even remotely close.

Saying the Ducks don't have reason to trade him is very short sighted (see standard AGM fare for capfriendly) and simply false. Gibson is a cap dump right now. The Ducks will need cap space in coming seasons if they plan on competing. They'll have to pay Zegras, Terry, Drysdale as well as free agents, Moving Gibson now will be much easier than if he proceeds to have a 4th or 5th bad season in a row. it very easily could be the difference between getting something for him and paying to get rid of him.

Jeeeez, you must be his best pal to have insider knowledge like that tears of joy

If you have a subscription to the Athletic, Eric Stephens interviewed him on Tuesday about it. If not, the Coles notes version is here: https://www.prohockeyrumors.com/2022/06/john-gibson-denies-he-wants-to-leave-anaheim.html

Posting the definition doesn't change the fact I never contradicted myself, even by that definition you posted. Not knowing how many Ducks players voted isn't opposed to those players likely voted for Gibson. Keep spinning though.

You keep making this claim that people that matter value Gibson highly. What exactly is this based off of? A poll where 18 of 537 people chose him?

Where there is smoke there is fire, players say they don't want to leave and demand a trade behind the scenes all the time

"I like the one done this year where 3.5% of players chose Gibson as the goalie they'd want to have. Likely players from the Ducks, lol."

How do those two points made by you not contradict eachother now?

This should be funny to see you "logic" your way out of

Gotta give up a credit.....you have lots of action on your post. But pretty totally unrealistic trades....all one sided in favour of the Leafs

It's amazing you can't do it yourself, english must not be your first language. Ducks players likely voted for Gibson, we don't know how many Ducks players voted. Those don't oppose each other in the slightest way.

These days 905 is not horrible, but I agree, still bad. Here’s the thing: before the last couple years he was a top 5 goalie. And the reason he went down was because Anaheim as a whole went down. And he’s still only 28. So it’s very reasonable, or even expected, that if he joined the leafs he would regain his former form.

Goalies shouldn't have to relay on their team that much if his drop off was that bad to me it he just played behind a good defense and was never a true top tier goalie
