Description
Honestly, I dont know if this makes sense or if Arizona would be interested. What my thinking is here is that the jets got lucky with the 2nd 1st rounder and they use this to get out from Wheeler's contract and add a decent C/RW. Not too sure about the value, but I do know the Coyotes value picks and could retain money in a Wheeler deal somewhere else

Sabres have like 4 guys under contract on the back end. THought adding a big guy to add some physicality would make sense

Completely agree, he would be a great addition!
Instead of a pick Buffalo may be more amenable to trading a comparable young forward or defender.
Unlikely Logan will be traded soon, big players take longer to develop, see Chara and Tage Thompson.
All the more reason for the Sabres to want him.

I think the key to the WPG/ARI trade is what you pointed out- what will a team pay for 2 years of Wheeler at roughly 4 mil?

Now you just have to find a way to get rid of Schmidt's contract and replace him with a Top 2 RHD.

Do you think that's fair value? Should the jets be adding more? I heard a rumour from a source close to the team that Wheeler has asked out. Not saying I am an insider but the rumour came from someone who works closely with the jets.
also, I wanna see Schmitt get a shot on the top PP

What is Wheeler worth at 4 mil for 2 years. Probably at least a 2nd and a prospect to the right team. So a 1st, a 2nd, Harkins, and a prospect for Schmaltz should be a fair offer.

Schmidt's value is right now is probably the highest it going to get. Rebounded with a decent year and a solid world championships but I think we need an upgrade.

Wheeler aint approving a Yotes deal, he may want out, but it'll be to a more desirable place for him. He could be a buyout candidate also.

I wonder who are the five teams on Wheeler's "yes" list. My guesses are:
- FLA, TBL (contenders, he has a place somewhere in Florida)
- COL, VGK (contenders)
- MIN (he is from there)

Which basically makes it a no trade list, as all have cap issues and WPG wouldn't trade within the division to COL or MIN anyway.

The idea would be that Arizona would flip him to where he wants to go and retain salary plus get a first. Tough for him to pick and choose where he wants to play when contenders cant take on that salary. Buyout isnt that bad for the jets to be honest
