The whole purpose of Moving Anderson is to get into a position where we can make one more trade to move into 3, 4 or 5 and get one of Nemec or Jiricek. If Montreal can't get the 6th pick in the trade they are not moving Anderson. BTW Anderson on his own right now is worth more than any prospect in the 10-15 range, so why are we adding so much more just to get what we would for Anderson alone?

If the Devils trade for Anderson I'll be incensed. Even if the value is right it's a misstep

This will legitimately give you a counter offer of a third round pick for first overall by NJ. Absolutely atrocious trade

I'm not sure NJ trades Zacha straight up for Anderson. Really sure they don't add pick 2OA.

I first sent the 6th to MTL and 12th to NJD, but i'm not convinced the devils would like to send the 2nd OA, who could potentially be Slafkovsky, projected as a powerforward who can score, for Anderson and 12th picks...

You have to look at the other trade. It's a three way trade

You can keep saying Anderson is worth 10-15, but it doesn't make it true. He would be worth a late 1st and a b prospect to a contender at the TDL.

So what you are projecting Slafkovsky to be is another Anderson?! Yet you at the same time say the Devils would want significantly more than just the player Slafkovsky projects to be.

Yes. NJD still don't trade 2OA. They keep Zacha and 2OA and not trade for Anderson and 6OA.

Yes, but they get a ready NHL player in Anderson and then they can also make a steal at the draft because there's not significant difference between the player.

Jackets decline. They don’t need wingers unless they are elite

I just don't see all 32 points of Josh Anderson being enough for the Devils take on that cap hit and move out of the top-3 in what most people see as a draft with 3 great players and a bunch of very good behind them.

This makes little sense to me, why would Montreal move Anderson for less value than what the 2nd OVA pick is? Especially since the player projected to go 2nd OVA is basically just a younger version of Anderson who has not proved anything to date? To me (and this is just my opinion here) Anderson would have more value than Slafkovsky since Slaf only has about a 10-20% chance of being better and a 50-60% chance at being the same player as Anderson and a 20-40% chance of not being as good. Basically you want Montreal to take less value because there is a 10-20% chance of Slafkovsky being better than Anderson but you don't even take into account the fact that there is a 20-40% chance of him flaming out too. Anderson is already established and Slaf has 5 goals in 31 games in a men's league. How do you plan to suggest to Hughes that he should move Josh for a player (12 OVA) who has a 50% chance to be no more than a 3rd line player and a 50% chance of not even making the NHL?

The 2nd overall is the only interesting thing in that Jackets trade and it's dragged down heavily by the unnecessary baggage y'all are attaching to it. No wingers needed or wanted here.
