LOL Bunch is making $5,800,000 in St Louis. You couldn't afford Bunch plus sign Copp, Strome and Vatrano to those laugh offers plus have to worry about both Kakko and Lafreinere.

I read it, Bottom line you wouldn't have Buchnevich for that low ball offer, plus signing those UFA for their current deals isn't remotely realistic.

And oh FYI you're over $3,177,302 over the salary cap and still technically need one more player.

You think I don't know that lmao this is a hypothetical if we made the same deadline deals and never traded Buch. This would be realistic if we didn't trade for Copp actually.

Buch was on his last year of his ELC before the extension, that's why he's so cheap on this. Why is this so hard to understand lol

NYR cap hit was 71M before the deadline, even adding Buch at 5.8M would have allowed us to add Copp and Vatrano and Braun and Motte. All those cap hits were like 1M per guy to NYR. We would have had the room however dumping him this summer would not be pleasant

Do you even realize that Buch first season in 2021-22 he was making $5,800,000 all the more reason why this doesn't make any sense.

Never said you couldn't add Copp, Vatrano and Braun. Just that if you kept Bunch at $5,800,000 you wouldn't be able to retain any of those players long term like you can now. Big difference there.

uhhh no he wasn't. He was on a 3.2M a year deal and his 5.8m kicks in next year that's why its called an extension.

Look it up, The $3,250,000 was in the 2020/.2021 season not the 2021/2022 season which was his first season with $5,800,000.

This team would still have worked as the deadline guys didn't come to NYR with their full cap hit. That's the point I was trying to make. Obviously we wouldn't be able to sign the deadline guys but if we have Buch at 5.8 with his career year and over a point per game, I'll take that over Copp as he will likely get a similar deal anyway.
