Colorado matches that Nuke offer. I doubt Sakic lets him walk for anything unless it's upwards of $6M. He's too important.

Bob probably has neutral value at 6 million so it’s essentially Bennett for Eller, a third, and Samsonov

Nuke is getting closer to $6,000,000 x 6 years.

He had an awesome game against Tampa Bay last night.

If he had a bad game last night would he get less in his next contract?

All of the reports are that the panthers are willing to retain the max 50% to move him. And bob does not have a neutral value at 6 million. He was good this past year but really bad the two before that, and that contract takes him until he's 38, leaving the caps taking a huge amount of risk on him. Not to mention that he has a full nmc and can theoretically limit the potential landing spots.

Lmfao?! I love that you think they would rather keep 10million is salary for a goalie they don’t need them retain 4m and free up 6million of dead cap. It’s incredible how easily perspective is lost on this site. Explain why a team would ever take his contract? To dump him it would cost 1st round picks you blew on (lmfao) chariot and rental CG. Hard to poke fun at the SR trade he was incredible. So what assets do you have worth a 1st. Lundell? Weegar? Bennett? Bc it’ll cost multiple 1st rounders + prospects to dump a 10m goalie w term. I would eat 4m rather then give up elc player / great team friendly $$ roster players

It will be curious to see what Sakic does. In the 92 negotiations, he had to give extra term he wasn't initially comfortable doing. He's already lowballed Nuke earlier in the year. He commented on record he wants Nuke back "100 percent" so he'll have to make a decent offer to follow through.

This is all true, but what is also true is the Avs can afford market value for 13. There's no reason to let him get away. Pay dat man his money!

I could see this trade happening. Might have to reduce retainment though by a mil (to $3 million).

I mean, yeah, that's exactly how it works in real life.

You know, I looked up Bob's contract and he is due a total of 13.5 million in bonuses in his last 4 years so I think the Caps don't do it and I think a number of teams would not want to pay that to him either.
