Philly - Hires a top end defensive coach to actually get the team playing strong defensively to help their potential elite young goalie out
Philly - Trades that goalie to another team for a defenseman who can't play defense at all and some futures, now have zero NHL caliber goalies.

Something seems off about this

At least he wants to acquire a guy who makes sense for the oilers. Islanders fans want to trade the 13th pick for Connor ****ing Garland.

Really I’m confused by the Puljujvari trade than anything else. As an Islanders fan I’ve never been that impressed by Hart.

Hart has been a victim of playing for a Philly team that just faceplants defensively. They have some good defensively players like Couts but he can't play all 5 positions. Realistically there is not chance at all that Philly trades him. (Looking at 5v5 stats here) he had a .917 sv% this year which is acceptable. His HDSV% was also pretty solid at .831.

I agree that Puljujarvi trade is definitely something.

Personally if I'm Edmonton the 2 guys I'm looking at are Husso and Blackwood

This is mostly hypothetical if Hart wants out and doesn't plan to re-sign in Philly. Also, already heard rumours of Barrie to Philly anyways.

We aren’t talking about Igor Shesterskin or Ilya Sorokin. Hart isn’t an elite tendy and it’s not just because of his defense. He gives up a lot of soft goals and he’s out of his ****ing mind like Blackwood is.

If you believe the rumors then there are 31 teams want Tyson Barrie. Might be time for people to stop pretending that bloggers know what they r talking about. Makes fans dumber imo. Not a criticism of you in particular, it’s about the media landscape in general.

Just not a Puljujarvi fan. He's not great with the puck and his confidence is tanked it seems. I think a change of scenery works for both guys. Was a big fan of Steel in Junior.

Steel hasn’t produced at the same level. U can probably get a first for Puljujvari based on what he theoretically brings to ur team.

Agreed and no offence taken. I will say I didn't hear this from a blogger haha.

Fwiw. Puljujarvi had a .39 PPG in his career compared to .33 for Sam Steel. There is 0% chance someone gives Edmonton a first for Jesse. He'd be gone already if that was the case.

Shesterkin and Sorokin are both a few years older than Hart. Not good comparables right now. Hart's development was rushed, I won't disagree with that POV but the potential to be a top end goalie in the league is still certainly there

Why would he want out? He also doesn't really have any say right now either. Maybe they were before the Risto extension but I haven't heard a single thing link Barrie to Philly once

Reasons: Doesn't want to be part of a rebuild, plus I don't know how many players are eager to play under Torts? Even with Risto signed, Philly has 3 legit NHL D-men signed not including an injured Ryan Ellis. Once again, purely fantastical and hypothetical. Hart could play 15 years for Philly, this is just a situation where he doesnt.

Philly has made it clear they aren't rebuilding though.

Torts is a tough but excellent coach. He's very hit or miss with some players. For example Atkinson is on record saying he loves playing for Torts, whereas Dubois obviously didnt.

Ellis is very likely to be healthy next season, Philly chose not to rush him back to make sure he was healthy. They also have York joining them this year as well as Attard who looks promising
