I have a hard time believing that Arizona is going to be happy to take the Dobie dump and eat a little less than $6 mil in actual cash on Burnsie while only getting back a mid-level prospect and a 3rd...

Willing to add another mid prospect in Ertel.

Maybe a 2nd instead of the 3rd, not too sure.

Not willing to give a first, maybe a 2nd at most.

Just for discussion purposes, and I obviously have no idea, but I'd imagine they'd want some degree of quality, TBH. You look at them taking 1 year of Stralman last year and getting a 2nd+recent 2nd rounder who was NHL ready. You're essentially shedding $3.75 mil in cash on Dobie, then another (close to) $6 on Burnsie. That's a lot to expect someone to eat, IMO.

Yeah same here, you don’t see long retention happening frequently.

I don’t think Dobby is the most expensive dump, he played sh*t this year, but it was because of injury. Burns is more or less the question.

He's a young player that's relatively unproven at the NHL level so far. Kotkaniemi fell into the same mold when Carolina offersheeted him. Don't really see why a team wouldn't offer sheet someone like Liljegren

I can't see the Sharks dealing Burns AND eating 9M without getting a solid NHL player back in the deal

Kotakaniemi is only the second player since 1998 to be lost because of an offersheet and the only reason he was offered was because montreal offered aho. Theres an agreement across the league no to offer lower end rfa

Looks decently fair, I would do like 2mil retention instead though for this deal. 3 is a bit much without a first in the deal
