Bruins decline. Haula played great with Hall and Pasta. If they do trade him, it'll be for picks/prospects.

Hextall would have to have gallons of Hennessy to make 7 trades in one off season. Also Leafs fans are gonna love that Nylander offer.

I don't hate this from a Wings perspective, but I would want Pettersson instead of Heinen in that deal. We have way too many forwards as it is.

Detroit declines. Hållander is 24 at the end of the month and he has played in 1 game. At this point he's just an AHL player and almost too old to be considered a prospect anymore. Heinen is a bottom 6 winger and that's something Detroit doesn't need any more of. Hronek plays over 20min a game and Detroit doesn't have a replacement for him. With just about every team looking for a RHD that produce like he does it won't be easy to replace him.

Really? Detroit has no one to replace him. That's 20min a game and 30+ points a season and with the demand for good RHDs far out weighing the supply this doesn't make sense at all for Detroit.

Hallander is nothing, I agree. But the 21st overall pick plus Pettersson (a LHD which we would need much more than a 2RD right now) is not an insignificant grab. Pettersson could pass on a pairing with Seider (who does the majority of the work) while Edvinsson & Johansson grow into the top 4 roles. To fill Hronek's role temporarily, I would seek a low-cost trade for Ethan Bear or a guy on the FA market (options may include Cole, Zadorov, Manson, Schultz, Gudbranson). This is until Wallinder is NHL ready, of course, which will probably be 2-3 yrs. I think most of those guys available on the market would be a sufficient replacement to Hronek.

I personally think Lindstrom is ready for an expanded role, but Detroit would need to have a FA RHD targeted before they traded Hronek for sure... if they could land someone like Manson, trading Hronek makes more sense.

Missing Tanev, are we? Aren't there Expansion rules against trading players back to their original team and retaining salary?? Maybe that expires after a year or something, I can't recall. (?)

Regardless, Seattle passes. Tanev has been a real hit with the Kraken both on and off the ice . . . pretty sure he's going nowhere. And even if that wasn't the case, I doubt Francis is too interested in paying 20% of his salary to play elsewhere for 3 seasons, certainly not for McGinn and a 4th.

Don't get me wrong I like Lindstrom but there were times especially toward the end of the season where the 16min a game he was getting was more than he could handle. For consistent scoring in todays NHL you need a 4th player to join the rush. His defensive play needs work but there were only 22 RHDs that had 38 or more points. I do like Hronek but he probably isn't the long term choice as 2nd pair RHD but it would be a mistake to let him go without a replacement. Yes it won't be hard to find a RHD to help pick up the 22min a game Hronek played but you aren't going to get the same production. Discussing this with another Wings fan he brought up pairing him with defenseman that plays a complimentary style. Like Zadorov who can still skate and is more defensively inclined.

I rlly do miss Tanev
There are lots of nice bottom-6 grinders but Tanev is a heart and soul type that PIT needs
