That Barrie trade might work with another team, but Dallas doesn’t need any more high-paid offensive older defensemen.

I can't agree with you, I think this trade could work with Dallas, Barry as an easy replacement for Klingberg.

Personally, I still do not trust that goaltending

I would rather drop kane and use that money for a defined starter IMO at least

I do not agree, Columbus will not give up highly qualified players, and this is not a dump, not liquidity, both hockey players are able to influence the outcome of the match, Edmonton just moves on and someone becomes a victim of circumstances.

I hope for an equal number of matches for both goalkeepers, yes Hill is not the rightful number one at the moment, but as a duo of goalkeepers, this link seems strong to me, let them develop systematically together.
And we need Kane, he's a big part of our success.

Name a player Columbus has taken on as a cap dump since Jarmo became GM 9 years ago.

Look at the Columbus forward depth and tell me who they play these guys over. Even if they send Johnson, Chinakhov and Marchenko to the minors they still have more than enough depth for the season.

I do not agree, Columbus does not have a greater depth of composition, this proposal will come to court.

Depends on what you value more I suppose

Though kane is great I think we can get similar production for 2 mil less and for the goaltending sake I think we need to get a glorified starter now while drai and nuge are on those great deals

Giving away players for nothing is the definition of a dump.

Initially, I considered the option of signing Husso, but the cap does not allow us, so I resorted to an exchange. I consider Hill and Skinner to be a reliable and promising duet, and I still hope Skinner will come out on top by the playoffs.

They have Marchenko, Nyquist, Danforth, Foudy, Chinakhov, Voracek, Texier, Robinson, Bjorkstrand, Laine, Bemstrom and Johnson as potential wingers next year in no particular order. Pick out 6 of those guys that Columbus would play Kassian and Foegele ahead of. That's how many they would have to beat out to get into the lineup.

Agreed if the players are useless. But this is not the case, both players directly influence the results of matches.
