  2. Turcotte, Alex

  2. Studnicka, Jack [RFA Rights]
  3. 2022 2nd round pick (BOS)
  4. 2022 3rd round pick (CGY)
Additional Details:
Taking example from the Jones trade. LA trades a haul of futures to get the maximum nine years of a player in their prime age. Since Pastrnak is the better player though, LA adds one more prospect to the exchange. Original Jones trade had also a low first round pick coming from CHI, which is replaced by Studnicka and picks.

Pastrnak signs an 8-year, $75M dollar deal with LA Kings.

BOS
  1. Glass, Cody [RFA Rights]

CAR
  1. Myers, Philippe
  2. Smith, Craig ($1,550,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Solid mid-6 winger at $1,5M and a cap beneficiary after a buyout...I can see this landing a first rounder. Doesn't have to be Canes though, the return is what is supposed to be important here.

If that extension is in place and it‘s closer to 9 than 11, it’s possible. But that’s if there is zero chance Pasta wants to try the free agency, which none of us know.

I could see the Canes being in on something like this IF their UFA players all walk. Smith could be a lesser replacement for someone like Nino.

Would love to see the ‘cheap’ Canes spend their poverty money to buy cap space.

Yeah. Problem is that in order to take advantage of Myers' contract they need to acquire those two before the free agency starts as the buyout window is before that.

If a player files for arbitration (DeAngelo), Carolina will get a 2nd window to buy him out

This team is stuck in no mans land if they go full on "rebuild"

Hall,Swayman,Mcavoy,Marchand and Lindholm will get this team into wild card contention

The bruins should still contend IMO and just try to trade for miller

I would rather have Pettersson or Schmidt, but Forbort wouldn't be the worst addition to the left side in Detroit. Maybe a 4th?

I disagree. They're already at downward trajectory and have very small amount of prospects to deal around. VAN will demand Lysell and BOS absolutely should not move him.

I'd settle for conditional 3rd, depending on whether Wings make the playoffs. Win through compromise.

Smith would be fine. Canes wont pay a first for a rental and to get 600k in a cap bonus.

As said in the trade description, if Canes ain't willing to do it, I'd wager someone else will.
