Trades:

Fiala is a stud and it's going to take a lot to get him. Mantha is a monster with less of a cap hit than the Wild would have to pay Fiala, plus they get a young depth forward in AJF, and a 1st for this draft. I feel like that's a decent haul for an RFA you won't be able to sign.

I've seen people saying it won't take much to get Strome, but he's still almost a 50 point player. I see it as a 1 for 1 swap of Strome for Samsonov, two guys that could use a change of scenery. The Caps get a 2C/3C replacement for Backy, and the Hawks get a young goalie who can still find his high potential he once had. Eller can fill Strome's spot in the lineup, and they get a third for taking his cap.

Hagelin is just a depth swap to dump cap space.

He’s a great player but I think his contract will more than likely be like 7.5

I’d be reluctant to take mantha if I’m the wild, that’s a lot of money coming back to a team that can’t afford the cap hit. There will be better offers and less return money from La, nyi, njd and Ottawa.

He's an almost 50 point player... when he gets to center Kane and DeBrincat. From what Chicago fans have said he's slow and useless defensively. Basically, he sounds like this year's Backstrom. I'd be terrified to have to rely on him as the 2C, especially with that super questionable 3rd line. That whole middle 6, and arguably even the top line, would need to be sheltered. I think if McMichael's gonna center one of the middle 6 lines you really need a solid, veteran C to center the other middle 6 line, and Strome isn't that.
