What they should do

Created by: Db1899
Team: 2022-23 New York Islanders
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 17, 2022
Published: Jun. 17, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
There is no path to contention next season. If the isles trade away expendable assets like Mayfield and Valamov , they can set themselves up for the future by drafting two high end forwards. Nazar should be a top 10 pick , but a lot of mock drafts have him going in the 12-16 range. He would be a steal at 13. Yurov has one of the highest ceilings in the draft and with the Russia situation he could fall to the 20s.

Oilers fans do not hate Puljujarvi , and the by might be the dumbest fanbase in hockey so it’s just further proves my point

He probably doesn’t want to live in Buffalo. I have family up there so I’m not ripping the city, but there’s a pretty long list of guys who wouldn’t want to play there.

I am family there too, players care about culture and winning. Buffalo is a young + up and coming team. Buffalo is not a bad place to live

Look imo he won’t waive. But u traded Varly and Mayfield for a late first and a second. If ur trading them as a pair u got to get more than that.

Puljujarvi hurt his shoulder so bad against coloarado that he needs surgery, so it doesn’t matter. He was still one of the oilers better forwards.

Maybe Buffalo has to add like a 3rd but the value is close enough.

I legit said I don’t dislike Buffalo as a city lol. My parents met there tbh. Just saying guys don’t normally waive for teams like the Sabres. Isles fans have seen it to. Visnovsky comes to mind as a huge example of fighting tooth and nail to avoid it lol.

That shoulder injury is another reason I’d be hesitant to trade for him. Wouldn’t Yamamoto be a better fit with his speed next to Barzy anyway?

Or the Vegas pick instead of the florida pick. But Buffalo won’t do that. If ur trading Varly and Mayfield ur dealing them to a contender imo. That’s where u maximize ur value.

Varlamov only has a 16 team NTC - all 7 canadien teams are on it, it’s not a given Buffalo is on his list. Things change, the most important thing to players is winning.

No guarantee, but I’m willing to bet those teams r listed based on their taxation status and if he would want to live there. No offense to Buffalo, but it’s probably on there.

It’s his 1st shoulder injury, Colorado traded for Toews after he had shoulder surgery 2x, doesn’t really seem to effect him.

Yamamoto isn’t very good, a lot of wasted energy. Mediocre player. Puljujarvi would give Barzal more chances to do what he does best.

I like Yamamoto’s speed tbh lol. I usually think if u put fast players with other fast players good things will happen lol.

Yamamoto would be good as a second line righty given the fact his speed would compliment Nelson and Lee nicely.

I would take that bet. Taylor Hall willingly signed in Buffalo. You’re exaggerating how many players have Buffalo on their no trade list

Yamamoto isn’t smart enough to play with Barzal. He can have all the speed in the world. Puljujarvi is a better puck handler , he’s better at protecting the puck and he has a much higher hockey IQ
